Gap between rear bumper and trunk
Hey guys, just took ownership of a 2016 bmw 328i. I Inspected it well all around but I missed this gap! It’s in a weird spot since it only shows when you open the trunk. Just wanted to get some feedback on this. Is this normal or is there an easy fix? The other parts of the bumper are flush it’s just this issue.

I noticed this gap in my 2016 328i the other day and it’s bothering me. Never noticed it before. I was wondering if it just helps the car drain water after rain or a wash?

On my 4 series water drains into the gaps at the edge of the trunk lid, flows along the channels on along the trunk frame, and then exits out over the top of the bumper; not inside it.

Not sure what clips you are talking about. My car has a gap between the weather strip and the bumper like OPs photo. I've never removed the bumper myself. Maybe my mechanics did when they installed my exhaust but that was months ago and I only just noticed this gap for the first time last week. Do you think this gap is any reason for concern or should I just have them take a look during my next service in a couple months?
