Since the car is new, also new engine, better stick with factory warranty if you want to modify, specially related to ECM or BCM! Don't take the risk, I got the car just 2 months, the MP exhaust already got problem, the flap bushings is lose at the driver side, so make the exhaust have major rattling even idling, end up the bmw dealership have to replace the whole new exhaust system, lucky my car still have warranty!

My dyno appointment will be At next Monday!
look forward to your dyno results even without the "before".

Does it still pull hard all the way to redline? Some of the other tunes are seeing "stumbles" at high RPM most noticeable in lower gears, any signs of this? Can't wait to see your Dyno run!

With Dinantronics, don't you have the ability to put the piggyback into bypass mode so the car effectively runs stock? If so, then can't you still effectively do before and after dyno runs?

My only thought is you might want to do the "after" run first, so the car has gotten time to adapt to the piggyback. Then switch it back to stock (assuming you can) for the before run.

Yes, using the smartphone app I can set between bypass or stage 1!

CCnYiting, did you notice any difference in the way car shifts with Dinantrpnics enabled?

Yes, Cubiza! You just mentioned, after dinantronic enabled, at sport+ mode, up shift is not that smooth as bypass mode, that's only point I really don't feel good with it! Specially when do up shift at full throttling, got some of delay, not like at by pass mode, bypass mode at up shift, the car just like pop up toward!

Seems to be this way with all tunes... the car must be noticing the extra power and cutting boost right at gear change to preserve the tranny. Maybe flashable? Not sure if you would want to risk it tbh.

With MPPSK + Dinantronics your close to or at the fuel limit set in the DME which no one can get around unless you flash the DME which hasn't been figured out yet. MPPSK doesn't raise the fuel limit.

So I realize I'm in the 4 series forum and I'm driving a M240i

I have a couple of questions regarding the 4 series (as while having my Dinan Stage 1 installed in my M240i) I sat in an M4 and rather fell in love with the car). After playing w/ the BMW configuration comparing the M4 and 440i w/ a Dinan (and the $16K price difference for comparably equipped cars), leaning towards a nicely equipped 440i M Sport w/ a tune over the M4.

My car w/ the B58 is rated by BMW as 335 HP and 369 Lb Ft Torque.

440i w/ a B58 is rated at 320 HP and 330 Lb Ft Torque

I'm more than pleased w/ the performance gains I've gotten with the Stage 1 on my M240i. The car is a beast. 1/2-3/4 throttle in sport and D/S from a roll and I'm getting the traction control light to blink on my dash.

My question is, when I go to trade my car in, suppose I want to pull the Dinan off my M240i and move it to the 440i:

Will I get the same performance gains I feel w/ the tune on the 440i as I do in the M240i? In other words will the tune map the 440i B58 to the same level as the M240i motor or will I be short on the HP and Torque due to the base numbers?

I assume that doing this will negate the warranty coverage I got w/ the Dinan on my M240i unless I purchase a new Dinan for the M440i (no carry over to the new car w/ the older Dinan Stage 1).

Just wondering if the Dinan Stage 1 for the 440i and the Stage 1 for the M240i are mapped differently?

I've read where you can order the MPPSK for the 440i which bumps HP and Torque to similar number as the B58 in M240i (Yes HP is higher w/ the MPPSK in the 440i but the torque numbers are identical to the stock M240i which is where the acceleration is really generated and butt dyno is felt).

Adding the Dinan to that car likely puts the 440i in a similar place my M240i w/ the stage 1. However it cost $3K more w/ the 440i to get there (adding in the price of the MPPSK to bump the base number up).

Anyone care to weigh in?

The tunes are different and I don't think it will swap over to the 440i even if you had MPPSK as the tuning from BMW is different on the M240i you have so that's what Dinan made there product off of. Also the M240i has a higher fuel limit than the B58 in the 440i. I would ask Dinan directly to be sure.

Just done the dyno run on the car today at APH, numbers between bone stock with MPPSK and Dinantronic stage 1, all @ wheel power 66lbft and 50hp extra! Got 4 pulls each mode, stock mostly the same at 4 pulls, but dinantronic stage 1, all 4 pulls little different, got gains each after! The tuner told me the dinantronic stage MIGHT have kind of self learn signals sent to oem ECU! Base on the dyno chat shows the line of oem is smoother than dinantronic. That's all I concluded after dyno!

PS. I'm new to the web forum, don't know how to post the chart/picture on forum, so if anyone want to see the dyno chart, just leave me the email via PM, I'll sent you the chart!

Tnx CCnYiting. So do you recommend it even with that gear shift delay? Do you feel the extra hp and torque. Please post dyno chart (if you figure it out).

About the shifting delay, I just want to make corrections, it's not really delay, it just not smooth as without Stage 1 ! I'm 100% satisfied with this product! Also I really do feel the extra hp and torque!

Exhaust sound doesn't change, same as before! But the engine turbo sound is way more louder than stock! You will hear the turbo spool up sound obviously! Specially when you do full throttled!

Red line is Dinantronics Stage 1 3rd pull
Blue line is last pull
