JB+ - Engine Lugging
I wouldn't necessarily say the engine is lugging, but that is the best way I can describe it, and it only happens when the JB+ is installed.
I've had the JB+ for probably a year now in my 2013 335i xDrive MT that has 36,000 miles. This started happening recently. When the engine is cold and usually between 2-3k RPMs it lugs. At first I thought to myself "did I forget how to drive a stick?" But I made sure the clutch was fully engaged and it still happened. I removed the JB+ to see if there was still an issue, and it hasn't happened since I removed it. Which was about two weeks ago. Has anyone encountered this and know what is the cause and fix? |

If you are referring to the engine having a rough idle and sort of jerkiness when the engine is cold. then yes i have encountered this issue before.
i've noticed that when i give adequate time for the engine to warm and do no step on the throttle aggressively when the engine is cold i do not have this problem.

And as I mentioned, I've had the JB+ for about a year, and this just started. Seems odd that it would start all the sudden. |

You can use the dial on the JB+ to adjust boost up or down as needed. Beyond that there are no diagnostics and if something was wrong with it you'd get a sensor faulty code or similar.

I have the same issue. I got back to the BMS guys they advised to gradually move the boost adjust dial from minimum up. Mine starts lugging from 3 o'clock position (I guess it's 1 bar above stock) The issue is that this way no noticeable power gain. BMS sad it's a petrol quality issue not much can be done...
...so I ditched the thing |

I have been plagued by an issue where the engine will start stumbling around 4k rpm usually in 3rd gear but sometimes in 2nd gear when I'm flooring it from a stop. I took the car in to the dealer last week (JB+ removed) and mentioned the stumbling thinking it was a plug or coil issue. Car has 36k miles and they couldn't recreate it and it showed no codes for a misfire.......and I can't recreate it myself with the JB+ off the car. I've thought that maybe I'm hitting a torque limit value such as has been discussed in the MHD thread to where the engine is programmed to cut boost/throttle in certain gears when certain torque values are reached.
