MPPSK no exhaust valve rattle

So I used to have a rattle coming from the exhaust flap on the stock exhaust when cold starting that has gone away with the mppsk. Looks like the valve is better and doesn't rattle it's just louder now

Wouldn't say your out of the woods yet. My 340i w/MPPSK has an exhaust rattle on the passenger side.

Why does the valve rattle in the first place? That sounds like a cheap valve or bad linkage in the valve. I have no valve rattle at all on my GT3 with full headers, high flow cats and muffler bypass.

Has anyone explored changing out the valve to a higher quality valve?

My mppsk with high flow dp has the cheap rattle sound during gears change in comfort mode, it goes away in sport mode. Not sure if unplug both valves when they open would fix this.

Just found out today from my dealer service center that I have a bad part by the valve. (German trying to tell me whats wrong in english) I think they mean the part that controls the valve but after I have it fixed Friday after next I will report back with the actual fix. It mostly happens on cold start but I also get the rattle in any mode while driving.

Did anyone ever find a good solution to this problem? I've got a catless setup with my MPPSK and the valve rattles both during comfort mode shifts, as well as under certain exhaust load/flow at certain RPMs in sport mode. It's really irritating and takes away all the enjoyment, I'm always keeping RPMs low to avoid the nasty rattling noise.

Same problem. Did you figure it out? It’s undrivable.

I thought I had a valve rattle before and it ended up being a tiny stone inside the exhaust!

That’s wild! And it didn’t make a sound before the Downpipe went on?
How did you get it out?

Anton

I thought it was the valve and the car was under warranty at the time . Not sure how it got in there!
I let BMW do it under warranty and they kindly charged me £100 diagnostic fee because it's not a fault with the exhaust
