Finally completed full 2TB retrofit

Did the paddles ages ago but never got around to fitting the shifter, until today.

Very easy and no programming.

2TB has different hardware, although gearbox could be coded for this option. Standard gearbox will never accept 2TB firmware, but is possible to go with 2TE.

My question exactly. Just looks like a normal gear stick to me.

I was thinking the same, unless the OP replaced an old style gear selector for the new one.

Better feeling knob too, the standard one doesn't have the leather back or gaiter.

Are you sure? I coded 2TB when I fitted paddles and i'll swear it made a difference to shift patterns.

I agree, you can code it to 2TB, but you will not able to flash your gearbox with this option, HWEL is different.

I did this when I did the paddles ages ago but nothing for the knob but saying that the gear changes do feel different, must be in the head because changing the shifter does nothing really apart from look/feel better.

I do not have the paddles but I coded 2TB and there is difference in the gear changes. Especially when in Sport or Sport+ and with the stick to the left you get a nice kick with the gear changes. Coding 2TB also gave me launch control as well.

This is an olllld thread but I just finished retrofitting 2TB today as well, including coding 2TB, wiring the car for paddles and retrofitting them, and installing the sport auto gear selector. Looks and feels great and driving in Manual mode is much more enjoyable now.
