N26 Build In the Werks
What's going on y'all
I've been wanting to do this for a long time, and I wanted some veterans of the forums to help me out In the some what near future (less than a year hopefully) I am wanting to do some pretty expensive mods (as if they all aren't for bmw) which I will now list: Bootmod3 bundle (will go stage 2 with all these mods) -Bootmod3 -Arm Catless DP -FTP Boost pipe -ER Charge Pipe *May switch to ER high flow catted since I have n26 -Burgertuning intake -Arm Motorsports Intercooler Bilstein p14's Dinan Big Turbo Upgrade BMS Oil Catch Can N55 M2 stock muffler With all these mods, how much power am I looking at? what parts am I missing to ensure no damage is amplified due to the increased power? Would it be more worth to do Dinan stage 3/4? Just wanted y'all's advice as I am really interested in doing this soon, depending on how the current world pandemic progresses Also, want to mention that my car is currently in base trim, I am wanting to do full m sport bumper conversion as well as new wheels/tire combo for more grip when it comes to it! Thanks in advance! |

Definitely make sure you are up to date with your maintenance before you start modding (valve cover, oil filter gaskets, belts, plugs, coils, etc.).
As far as power after all the bolt ons Minus the big turbo, you are looking at 270-300whp 300+ torque. Not to many people i know have had big gains when adding the upgraded turbo. Aside from your list, a GFB dv+ will help throttle response and hold boost longer through rpm range.

Good point, I live in texas so it's usually pretty hot, I'm wondering if a radiator as well would be beneficial? I'm still a little confused to what the difference is between radiators and inter coolers so if that's not beneficial let me know
I'm also wanting to switch to liqui moli so I have a little more viscous oil

No need for upgrades radiator on the n20/26 unless you are running big turbo. Factory cooling system does a great job of it with 100+ days in Miami.
An intercooler is going to play a bigger role for you in Texas. VRSF comp, ER raceworks, ATM intercooler, Wagner Comp 2. It might be worth it to sell and buy an M Sport f30 for the interior differences as well as bumper conversions done already.

I'm running a ER catted downpipe and it throws a check engine light for me every now and then. more-so on longer highway trips (p0420 code). idk if that's a deal breaker but just a heads up.. oh and I also have a n26 engine with only mpe, mst intake and the ER catted downpipe done performance wise.

Good to know. I'm probably going to do the er high flow catted because I don't want any cel, but that's just what the bundle includes so I'll try and sell it afterwards

I was in Austin and Dallas until 2 days ago for around 2 weeks. Didnt experience any heat soak with the 5" G Plus special intercooler for what it was worth.

Not sure where in Texas you are, but I had elite auto works in Austin remove my resonator and angle my muffler tips when I was in town. Stand up guy, great price

Good to know, I'm definitely going to be referring to your post, I appreciate it! How does your car feel with all your handling upgrades as well? And how do those 6 piston brakes fit?!? Those are massive

I'll be honest, I used to hate this car. After the handling and brake upgrades i can finally push the car. You will defintely need the brakes, i know this car only has 290whp but it feels really fast and my other car is a 550 hp porsche turbo. A real cheap upgrade that has been one of the best mods is coding the transmission to sport +, once you put the car in sport, the transmission shifts so fast it feels faster than the pdk in my porsche. You can get bimmercode in the app store and program the transmission and the car for sport +

you need the adapter to fit the F10 m5/m6 6 piston calipers heres's the link :https://www.ebay.com/itm/29373571199...m=293735711994 I found the calipers on ebay. You would have to use the F10 m5/m6 disc rotors but the inside has to get bored a little bit. The machine shop charged $60 to bore them out, just bring your stock rotor so they can match m5 rotors to them. Also you need the m5 disc rotor screw to hold the rotors in place instead of the f30 one. That's so the rotor doesn't move when putting your wheels back on |
