microphone retrofit not working
Hi guys,
So i'm back again .... same issue though but with a bit of progress - meaning no real progress, just tried different things to solve the issue. so the backstory: trying to retrofit business navigation in a friends' car. Everything works - 8,8" screen, new idrive controller, enhanced bluetooth, navigation (using an emulator) etc.. So the issue is that although BT audio and calling works, the damn microphone doesnt... at first i ran the microphone wires directly to the OEM quadlock which then feeds into the emulator harness with all pins populated, so the connection should be present. However it didn't work. Having talked to a couple of people I decided to try and surpass the oem quadlock and splice the two microphone wires to the emulator harness, in pins 17 and 22 ... Used a cable shoe to make sure i didn't fuck it up ... didn't work either. So tried switching the two wires on the microphone itself to see if i messed up with the + and - ... That didn't work either ... Now i'm done to whether it could have something to do with the coding or if the cable or microphone itself is broken which does seem weird as i bought new ones for this retrofit .. So does anyone have a suggestion? and does anyone know exactly what needs to be coded? Thanks so much in advance and sorry for the length ... |
