F31 tourer Rear bumper protection recommendations

With recently getting a dog I can see that protecting the top of the rear bumper on our 340i is going to be sensible. I have seen in the past various options for that, so interested to get recommendations for any options that folk have used.

I'd probably be happy with an easy to apply paint protection film that was pre-cut, but open to other products.

100% PPF - and might as well get a custom one done. Mine was £70 fitted. That way you can get it to go over the edge.

On my wifes car, even with a protector, there are still scratches as they jump in from the sides, etc

IMO, best way is, boot liner with a fold out bib

I've got a dog guard and BMW bootliner with fold out boot lip protector already, so that will help a lot of the time, but I just know that it won't take long before she jumps up before we've had time to fold it out.

So PPF seemed the easiest way. I see some plastic/rubber inserts, but concerned they won't fit fantastically well and look a bit naff after not very long.

My tip would be to train your dog to sit in the boot after you open the boot until you give a command.

I've seen dogs jump out of boots as soon as they are opened and run in front of traffic.

I wanted one that went over the edge - a lot of the stick on ones didnt do that - or were hard plastic and worried about crap getting under.

For sure, they need to know not to jump out until told - mines are normally so excited to get out they clear the bumper when they are released. The damage is on the way in. Mostly they sit and wait, but every now and again the thought of the impending treat is too much for them.......

You can try everything but it will get scratched. A ceramic coating on the whole bumper, film on the top, a pen inside so she only got in and out when told and a cover over the bumper - still got one scratch on the Audi....

Worth it though....

I use this one, its doing its job as intended, easy enough to fit but tbh i did wrap my whole race car so wrapping isnt much of an issue for me.
