Fuel consuption after BM3 Stage 1 flash
So I went from 9l/100km to 15l/100km on map Stage 1 91 from BM3. Doesn't make any sense imo...
Is that normal?? Burble settings on MAX. Someone from ProTuningFreaks told me burble wasn't changing fuel consuption which i'm clearly skeptical of lol. I flashed it back to OTS burble and will check back tomorrow. I hope it's only the burble setting that affects my fuel consuption like that which would make sense as it burns extra fuel in exhaust to make it bang/pop. 320hp -> 390hp and +6l/100km more is not worth at all IMO. |

I agree!... to make "burbles + pops" the car has to run rich so larger fuel droplets are left over in the exhaust phase. These fuel molecules are then ignited in the catalytic convertor.

Yup! I guess my fuel consumption will be better with minimum setting for burble. 6l/100m increase is way to much for me only for this sound! I’ll go straight pipe instead ahah
That’s still not correct from them to say it doesn’t change anything on your comsuption just to make you buy it. |

My mpg hasn’t changed since flashing.
Maybe your driving style changed? You like the increase in power so you’re lead footing it more? Let us know what you find. |

I'll change burbles setting tonight and check back. This morning I was averaging 9l.. That's my bad I guess as I ran the car in my town after the tune. Running in 2nd gear for 5km isn't the best so that's why I was sitting around 15l I guess. Was at like 20l+ going uphill this morning too lol. Will check back tomorrow after adding burbles back. Everything seems okay for now! I was kind of scared.. +6l/100km is a huge amount in 1 year ahaha

Burbles will decrease MPG. If you turn burbles off the MPG will be the same as stock as long as you are not pushing the car more aggressively

So I have also recently flashed, been a couple months at this point, and I have seen an increase in mpg. I have obviously been pushing it a lot more than pre flash and since then it has been reading 1-2 mpg higher than before. I have also verified this against physical reading on the pump, there has been an increase.
If you are looking at about 10.5 mpg drop there you have to be WOT a good amount. Are you pushing it most of the time?

Gas mielage can vary quite a bit depending on many things. They say Driving mileage can vary 35% just by mood.
Unless the conditions are exact your foot may have just been in it more. Tunes use more fuel cause more boost is more air which requires more fuel - just the nature of the beast!. Burbles tunes will use more fuel on average too but it's small to some people and negligible to others. I used to AVG 22 MPG. Now it's closer to 13 MPG cause my trips are a bit less frequent and more enthusiastic we'll say. |

Let’s just say I only got 193 miles out of my last full tank... stage 2 though.

Also, if you are running ethanol, you necessarily get reduced fuel economy due to the lower energy density of the fuel. |

I've been running the same as before right now. I drove in city some days and that's why it was decreasing so much!
1-2-3 gear is like 20-25l/100km which is insane lol but goes lower on highway like 6-7l/100km. Make more sense to me now. Running at 10l/100km on average, same as when I bought it! Still wondering how can the mpg stays the same with higher numbers on the car.. Does stage 2 change anything on fuel consuption or it stays normal? |

Like i said above, the tune is not changing AFRs under cruise or anything that would affect fuel economy when you are just commuting in the same way you would before being tuned. You should be able to get the same fuel economy as stock tune assuming your adjust your driving habits accordingly. For example, you may need less pedal input than stock to achieve the same acceleration, and so on. |
