Can't set new Android HU to fullscreen

Hey all, I’ve bought an Android Head Unit and managed to install it with no problems. The only thing that is bugging me is that I couldn’t set the OEM system to work with the correct resolution.

I have coded the new screen with BimmerCode:
- HU_NBT > EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE =
"breites_display"
- HU_NBT > HMI >
DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = "10.25_1280×480"

And already set in the head unit factory settings the “Car Exibition” to [03]NBT_F48(8.8",10.25")

The result is that the screen resolution actually looks fine but I still have an annoying black overlay on the right of the screen

That’s my HU settings:

I’m able to keep the original screen resolution(6.5") and use either halfscreen or fullscreen (stretched) with no black overlays, but when I code the new screen and use the correct (8.8/10.25") settings it stays like that, which is very annoying.
I have no idea what else to code or to do with that, does anyone have any idea?

Ps.: the HU is not brand new and the old owner never new that coding screen res was even possible, we can’t contact the manufacturer because we don’t know who they are as he bought the HU in my country from another local dealer.

Issue is the coding you did. The car never came with a 10.25" screen so you need to code in a 8.8" one, and then pick the '8.8", 10.25"' like you listed above. The HU will then convert the 8.8 OEM into the 10.25" aftermarket.

Mine came with 8.8", and I tried what you did, and it broke....

I think I already tried setting the resolution to 8.8" (even tho the original one is 6.5"), but I’ll try it again to make sure. Btw I’ve set that settings because that’s pretty much what everyone is saying all over the forums and YouTube but it didn’t worked for me

I’ll reply later here if that works

Hmmm... Mine didn't work with the iDrive coded to 10.25. I just got screen wrap like the resolution was messed.

In my case, I had the 8.8" NBT screen. You might want to see what you need to code in the car if you had just upgraded your 6.5" to a 8.8" BMW screen. Maybe there is another setting that you missed?

I have upgraded from 6.5" to 10.25" this is why it was coded like that. Honestly I went through everything I could find on internet and still didn’t worked so I have no clue right now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I see what you mean. When you look at the HU selections, they are going from one size to the new size 8.8" (iDrive) to 10.25" (Android). There is no option on the Android to take 10.25" directly from iDrive, so the car needs to be coded to match 8.8".

Unhappy

Same problem encountered for me except that the author of the topic never came back to say if it worked or not, I am 50km from my car until next week and I am still looking for THE real solution...
