True Car Price?

Does anyone know if the "price paid" includes any incentives? There is a separate location in the calculation of "price paid" for incentives that is blank, but curious if it's just been lumped in.

I'm seeing 10-11% off MSRP as the "pride paid" for 328's, so I would assume that would include some incentives, but wanted to confirm if anyone has had experience with this.

My experience has been the True Car price is the pre-negotiated price before incentives, etc. For example when I leased the wife's X5 the True Car price was the price of the car then we added my USAA discount to further reduce the final sales price.

Alright, thanks. Seeing True-car in my zip code for 10-11% below MSRP, so that would be before incentives.. what an insane deal.

You'll get different answers from different dealers.

Garage List
When I did the True car price my CA did not seem very happy. I got the impression she wasn't going to make very much off the deal. My price was 10% less than MSRP without any incentives.

usually true car will list any incentives in the quote. dealers are alway supposed to honor the price.

Thanks all. Seems like I could be getting 10% below MSRP at least, before incentives!

I've contacted dealers with a true car price and they'll either say it's only if you finance which is a lie or they'll say it's for a car on the lot only.

I just did this, went through True car and the dealer ended up discounting the car further, I put down a deposit but now the waiting game begins if they have an allocation.

NJ isn't too far from my market. What did TrueCar estimate as % off MSRP, and what selling price did you end up agreeing on before incentives?

TrueCar estimated ~3.8% off MSRP, dealer offered a total of 8.4% off MSRP before any incentives.

That's lousy for a TrueCar discount, that's generally where dealers will start. 8.4% off MSRP should be around invoice which seems really fair.

I got way below MSRP. Through USAA's True Car and further negotiation, I paid $43,800 out the door (obviously, my price includes destination, tax, etc.). True Car alone without negotiation + tax would've been $44, 557. I saved an additional $757. BMW's website priced my car and configuration at $50,715 after tax. Saved 13.6% off MSRP.

Ask for Veedit Patel of BMW of Springfield, NJ. Tell him Remi sent you guys!

And dwalls90 - you still gotta shop around! I called 3 True Car dealers and ended up with Veedit.

What was the MSRP before tax and selling price before tax?

13.6% off MSRP seems unheard of.

MSRP + destination: $47,845
My price + doc fees + DMV + destination: $41,373
Difference: $6,472

6472/47835=13.52% pre-tax

Good grief that's a great deal. I'm pushing for at least 10% off MSRP, will see if I can get both dealers on that page and then see who wants the sale more

O yea! Don't be afraid to look far! If you have some time, even with a plane ticket + gas for car coming back, you could potentially save money.

I live in PA, but I looked as far as GA and MD. Check out Passport BMW in MD. And also add BMW Springfield in NJ. Put in zip codes for rural areas as well.

As always, RECHECK True Car near the end of the month. The prices may change! Always buy end of month and in afternoons. Rainy days are good, too! Wait for Memorial Day and see if more incentives are coming out, if you can wait a little longer.

Appreciate your advice. Passport is definitely high on the list of where I will likely go through with the deal.
