I just received my Blackstone Oil analysis report and I'm pleased to say this N55 is in great shape.
I've been tuned since 45,000miles on stage 2 BM3 tune with supporting mods (CTS Turbo Intake, CTS Turbo FMIC, FTP CP, VRSF DP, custom exhaust and AEM WMI) pushing close to if not over 400whp. These engines are stout, reliable make great power and sound amazing. The only significant maintenance I've had to perform are gaskets (OFHG, Oil pan gasket and about to do the VCG).
I recently had to upgrade the clutch as it was slipping under WOT and went with the 335is/550 upgrade and CDV delete. Man what an improvement. Even after 80,000 miles the stock clutch still had plenty of friction material and if it wasn't for the added power from the tune I probably could have gotten another 30,000 miles out of it.
So how about we spread some love in this thread. Who else loves their N55?

85,000 on my 435 6MT and loving it. I had a Infiniti G37 coupe before this car and I have to say at first I was disappointed. I added a JB4 and M2 muffler and it changed it dramatically. Runs strong and sound great.

Just hit 84,000. Still drives excellent. I went full bolt on Stg2 Bootmod3 around 62,000 miles. I'm coming up on 6 years of ownership, I usually get bored by year 4 and want something new, I love this car and plan on keeping it for a while.

I was starting to get disillusioned with my car last year and was starting to get the itch for something new. Then I scored a bunch of Black Friday deals and was able to go Stage 2 on BM3. In love with the car again and planning to keep it as long as it stays running!

What kind of black friday deals were you able to find for BM3 last year? or were you able to get a combo set for parts + tune? Im looking to tune later in the year, but if good deals pop up around nov I might be able to hold off...probably not lol.

There's always combo deals up on XPH, but i found that parts were significantly discounted on BF. This is mostly for hardware, not sure about tune discounts, but there are bundles with tune+hardware.

Just turned 70K. No real issues to speak of. I do all maintenance items myself. I'm about the swap the belt and pully as a preventative measure with the FCP Euro kit. Car has been great and runs strong 💪

There wasn't really a deal for BM3 so much as I got lucky in finding a used license for half of retail right around Black Friday. I also got a CTS catless downpipe (~200) and CTS intercooler (~350) with their BF deals.

What is this clutch upgrade and CDV delete? My clutch was replaced when BMW decided to give me a new gearbox after only 24Kmi due to bad 2nd gear synchro.

Mine is a 2014 F30, but I only recently turned over 30Kmi as I travel for work often for weeks at a time, so it gets to sit in the garage and pout.

Payback today was the OEM charge pipe blew off the intake and the clip is nowhere to be found and the flange is damaged. Hope no debris got sucked into the engine. That extended warranty isn't looking like such a bad deal now... I know these OE units are garbage but I'll replace the replacement with a proper steel one eventually.

FYI if you get CP fixed under warranty, they apparently have a revised version

That's exactly where mine failed. Looks like I have the old version. Thanks! Now I have some warranty ammo.

They all fail in basically the same way. You dont even need ammo lol, if the dealer says its not a common problem they are lying. You should request the new version if possible.

Hey,
I just hit 140000km/87500mls. I love this car, but recently had some stuff gone wrong.

First at around 130000km/81250mls a coolant overflow hose just snapped, luckily at home, and I was able to repair it myself. But quite shaken at the low quality of this plastic hose.

Then recently I had the oil filter housing gasket leak, and the valve cover gasket leak too. First car in my life to develop such oil leaks at such low mileage.

But by itself, this is a fun car to own and drive.
So I'll add : 87500 miles and I still love my F30 335i !
Cheers,
GSband
