New to me 2018 430i xDrive Convertible - Wind Deflector question
Hi all,
Just became a new owner of a 2018 430i xDrive Convertible luxury line. It's Snapper Rocks blue with a Cognac interior. It was an off lease vehicle. MSRP when new was 62k and we purchased it for 36K. It only had 7,100 miles on it. It's like a brand new car. Pictures will follow. What a nice cruising vehicle. I do have a quick question. There doesn't seem to be a wind deflector with the car. The type that separates the front seats from the rear and reduces turbulence. Was this something that came with the 4 series convertibles or is it a extra cost accessory. Thanks for any help with my question. Leif W. |

Good you found it, they're great and not cheap think like $750 or so.

It's not the noise I'm worried about (I have the music up very loud) but it helps with the wind tunnel feeling. Also less dog fur blowing around which is a plus. lol

Absolutely keeps the wind down. Not much difference in noise. Mine is always right behind the front seat. When the sun gets lower and it gets cooler. I just flip it up. Turn on the neck warmer, turn the dial on the dash and we are good to go.

I keep forgetting to tell everyone, remove the rear headrests, it improves visibility and no one sits in the back anyway, it's just extra storage space.

Reality check to everyone else - if you remove the headrests and you happen to still have somebody in the backseat then any accident, even a minor fender-bender, could be lethal to them.

true, I should have mentioned that. I kept one in the trunk but in the two years with the car, I've had no one in the back seat except the dogs so for me, it's a non-issue.

I agree with Chowser's suggestion to remove the rear head rests - of course follow all safety guidelines/precautions. In my case, it really improves the overall look of the car and the car seems much more like two-seater with the top down. YMMV.
