Selling to Cazoo

Anyone used this road?

They’re comfortably the best offer I’ve had, and boast of “no chipping on price”. The wife’s car is 2 years old, FDSH and no marks, blemishes or scratches.

The catch I have is the nearest drop off is 180 miles away as they don’t operate north of Manchester. Don’t want to waste a day if they do actually chip on price.

I did a few months ago was fairly straightforward. No issues.

What did you sell to them if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks. Did they chip at all? Or was the price they said what you got?

They did knock the price down. There was a stone chip on the windscreen which had about a 5mm crack on it. I put it down as a stone chip but they classed it as a crack and therefore knocked £200 off. It was fair to be honest.

That’s fair. I’m just trying to avoid a 200 mile drive and they want a grand off me!

When I was doing the appraisal online, I found that adding extra damage did not affect the price. For example, putting 3 scratches instead of 2 gave the same price. Same with scuff marks.

Therefore by playing around with it, I added extra damage just to cover myself and the value was still the same.

Wife sold the F11 to Cazoo just before Xmas (2016, 530d luxury) - marked as "good" condition, just under 74k, some scuffs/chips to the paint and plenty of wheel scuffs. Inside in v good nick despite twin girls being in it for past 5 years!

Offer was £2k higher than anyone else, and the guy didn't quibble at all. He actually said overall the car could have been listed as "excellent", but we didn't feel you could argue that on a 7 yo car with scuffs / chips.

We sold an F series Clubman to them a couple of years ago (Chertsey branch) Absolutely no quibble on the price quoted and free teas/coffees and cold drink while we waited.
The guy was really honest with us and said essentially, if we’ve been truthful with damage etc when getting the online quote, that will be what we’d get.
All went through and by the time we were walking back to the car park after having the digital “photo signature” standing next to the car, the money was in our account.

Easiest car sale I’ve ever had and no messing around with hundreds of different photos as Motorway seemed to want!

Just make sure you do the quote in the registered keeper’s name!

Quick update

Managed to avoid the 200 mile trip, as the PX price I’ve got is acceptable. Still a bit of money left out there had I used Cazoo but for the convenience factor, I’m happy
