A(nother) MINI Adventure

Was starting to get itchy feet with the wife’s VW T-Cross after its second service at the start of January so had started planting the seeds of changing with her.

Managed to get a January deal done on a new MINI Cooper Sport. An £800 dealer contribution was on offer plus their PX bid was strong (not as strong as some others, there’s a separate thread on that). Also have a years free insurance chucked in too.

Had to compromise a little - I didn’t really want white as my Tesla is washing machine white, and I wanted the JCW wheels, but the cars are stock only now and are becoming harder to source with unique spec.

Pick up Wednesday evening as the contribution is apparently for January only

Nice choice. I’ve driven quite a few small cars recently and found nothing which drives as well as a Mini.

Excellent, although I'm biased, very similar to our 2020

Had this (our 3rd one) for 3 years now, just turned 25k and its not going anywhere soon!

One thing that does annoy me with Minis is that they all seem to suffer from trim rattles eventually. Its been pretty bad with the cold snap of late which obviously makes the plastic more brittle. I've also got it on RF winters just now (summer tyres are Eagle F1 non-run flats) which won't be helping. They're quite old Dunlop 4D and the sidewalls are like concrete!

I'll hopefully get some time in the next few weeks to trace them, trouble is it seems to be the whole dash

I know you will probably keep them, but thats the first thing I got rid of, MPS5 transforms the ride and handling.

Its done 3k miles, I'm not getting rid of nearly new tyres yet... when it needs fronts, I'll swap all 4... I may also go 17s for wheels as well!

I quite like these 17s, also on non-RFT Pirellis.

The wife wouldn't be able to tell the difference between runflats and Krispy Kreme donuts on the rims

Collected the car last night - in the dark

Terrible for checking it over and taking pictures as well.

Are there any Mini forums or faceache groups people would recommend?

This forum can be quite helpful https://www.minif56.com/ but there are quite a few Mini owners on here too!
