you can go wider than 245 on your car...might help at the track.

my wheels still havent arrived and now im having issues with the vendor. So organising a refund. have swapped to 18x9.5+33 and will decide on 255 or 265 tyres in the next few days. not sure if i will need a spacer on the front.

ah ok. you will need camber and a spacer up front if you run the 265. guaranteed. im guessing a 12mm should do the job but that may depend how aggressive you want the alignment. i ran an 18x9.5 et38 with 265s and used a 15mm spacer up front. This was only for my autocross setup so i was running -2.9 degrees of camber up front. You may not need that much but it depends what youre doing.

I ran a 255 on a 18x8 34et setup...no spacer or camber but i was at stock height on stock suspension. Not sure if you need a spacer to accommodate the 9.5 width...I would plan for it but since a 33et pushes the wheels out a bit so it might be ok

you have more space in the back so should be no issue running 265 in the rear.

Finally ordered tyres. Have gone with 255/35r18. Have millway camber plates upfront that I’ll run at maximum. Car is going in for an alignment next week I think the car is about 25-30mm lowered on KW V3’s

Knowledgeable bimmer enthusiasts question for you:
I’m going for wmi soon, is it considering as race gas???
Meaning, am i gonna be able to put Bm3 racegas map.
If so, is the gain worth it?
I’m FBO stage2 on a 340i xdrive 2016.
Soon DE2 HPFP and wmi.
Thanks for your knowledge and time

you should be fine at that ride height.

I'm well over 30mm lower and I run a 275/35/18. Just make sure the wheels clear the front shocks and your good to go.

Hi Guys, wanna check how do you all solve the oil starvation issue on track? My 335i recently had this issue and unfortunately my crank is gone as it was badly scratch and need replacement.

Anyone tried using m2 or s55 oil pump n oil sump? Will it help?

I’m about to pull my oil pan, preemptively change my rod bearings and then pop in an MMR sump baffle. I’ve been talking to mmr and they have had good success with their baffle on race prepped bmws and it’s also quite cheap.

This baffle does look impressive, keep it posted here to and let us know the results. I was thinking using the m2 sump and oil pump, but it's quite hard to find a used set and the price for new is pretty steep.

Was tracking the car, everything went great on the early stage, but after about 2 hours of tracking, the car oil temp started going up, then it started to feel like misfire. So i stop the car and didnt continue. Send in for check the next day and thought it was just coil or plugs, but after changing those, the knock became more apparent at low rpm. Here is the pic of the shod rod bearing and crank..

Yeah, gotta get a new crank for it. The car has 135k kms odo. I've been tracking it pretty aggressively over the past year. From TW200 AD08R to RE71RS, but haven been on slicks.

Nope. But i always top it up to max before track days according to the on board idrive oil level measurement. Oil change after every 2/3 track session.

There are a lot of members here who track the n55 quite hard and frequently and from their posts over filling by a qt seems to do the trick. Cheap insurance for rwd.

Your alternatives are definitey the mmr baffle or oem+ (m2 parts) mods. Haven't seen the mmr baffle in good reviews though. But that's a small sample space anyway.

Also of note, it seems the xdrive oil pan already acts like a baffled pan because of the axle placement. Fortunare for us as the other options don't work for xdrive.

Ya..should have done that. I'll try to source for the OEM+ mods to see if can, if not will definitely try out the MMR baffle as it seems well engineered.

Both options shpuld be some well needed assurance. You are already tipping apart the bottom end anyhow. One of those + over filling should make it virtually bulletproof at that point.

Oh..i see

Btw, anyone running Mosselman oil thermostat with uprated oil cooler? Thibking will it help to stabilize the N55 oil temp as its kinda hot in my country where temp can reach 34c/93f.
