Without wanting to sound dismissive they’re lucky they didn’t just rip out the infotainment system, and cut through the wiring loom at the same time.

A spate of thefts here in Essex has made me purchase a silver full cover steering wheel lock which I now used everyday! Even if leaving the car for only 10 mins.

Based on activity on the local Facebook groups the trend for theft here at the moment in my local area (Essex) is:

Ford Fiestas 2010 onwards
4-6 year old Mercedes (not full AMG) but AMG lime and premium trim levels
Transit vans and pickup trucks (even a recovery truck got lifted a few weeks back)

Once stolen, they seem to be transported close to train stations and train station car parks to cool down to see if a tracker is activated with subsequent recovery. Some cars have been found with false plates left to cool down.

They've modded it to Tesla yoke spec, bloody scumbags I hate them, it will be drugs related as the local Fagins get their indebted drug addled artful dodgers to roam the streets doing their dirty work.

Sad state of affairs.
