brake help
Indy says I need rear brake pads. My 435 has 70k miles can I get away with pads only or do I also need rotors? No warning yet but he says the sensor is on the other wheel which is still in tolerance.

Need to measure rotor thickness, Min allowable thickness is stamped on rotor - if your very close to or at/below min thickness then rotors should be replaced.

Personally I would just replace them. It’s not that expensive. I just did my rears, pads, rotors, sensor for under $300.
The e9x and f3x brakes are easy to do. |

With 70k miles, don't mess around. You can get a sensor for $20. Get Zimmermann rotors. Inexpensive German high quality. Zinc coated so none of that ugly BMW rotor rust. Hawk 5.0 pads much better than stock in every way.

Two things I don't mess around with
1. Brakes 2. Tires These two can get you out of some serious sticky situation while driving. Get it done right, get the rotor, pads, sensor replaced 70k miles on them is pretty good life. |
