BMW 6er Coupe is a limo that is missing rear doors; look at the length behind the doors to the rear wheel. The car has a fish tail.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Wow can't believe I never seen that before.
I guess thats why the 6 GC look so right. Because it suppose to have 4 doors in the first place.
Wonder if there other cars like this.

Exactly, just like 5 series vs 3 series, there will always be a market for a vehicle that's bigger or offers more status,

Coupé was a four-wheeled, horse-drawn carriage that was based on the coach(in today car language-sedan) but was smaller and lighter in weight. Originally the word coupé described any such cut-down coach body.

With cars becoming a product for general populace after World War II, Coupe was a two-door sedan.
It was a sedan focused primarly on the comfort of the driver and the front passenger; while eliminating two rear doors, the front doors could be longer and thus it was far more comfortable to get in the car (have in mind, that the mass market cars produced at the time were quite cramped).

Have a look at the first 3er Coupe.
The today BMW Coupes preserve that original idea; the design is evolved, however the base concept has not changed.
BMW was salvaged from ruin (Mercedes was going to buy it) with such small 4 and two door sedans.

Anytime the 4er.

Yesterday I cancelled the M135i hatchback(eta feb '13) awaiting a sept 4er or(better) a (sept '13?)F22 235i....

Damn, I 'm totaly in love with that F12 Berlinetta, the 6er looks like crap imho from almost every angle...

Cheers

I love the 4:er. It's better looking than the 6:er imo. The front in particular. It's way more aggressive.

Precisely... I wouldn't consider driving a 4er no matter how it looks.... I prefer my 6 Series..

Nevertheless the 4 looks great.. I do have reservations about the front but I would have to see the car in person...

The 4 makes the new 6 looks kinda old!
My only gripe with the 4, is the back.
The lights is kinda weird, and we'll probably see some other doorhandles, but alll in all, a great leap forward!

The only design aspect of the 4 I like over the 6 is the headlights. The 6 has ugly headlights. Other than that the 6 is much more beautiful.

Overall shape is nice but the bumpers are ROUGH. Hopefully they will clean this up for production or the M sport version will be better.

Some like the 4er, others like the 6er. Regardless, BMW design is going in such a good direction.

Looks great (both) but the 4er concept rear bumper is very busy, what with those exhausts.

Needless to say I would be thrilled if the car was 5% smaller all around.

And I don't know how I feel about the shrinking greenhouse of new BMW cars, and all the busy names (xdrive instead of xi for example).

I don't doubt for a second it will drive great and sell very well. As somebody mentioned this car seems to be BMW's answer to the A5. It has been the other way around for so long- BMW running it's own race as it were, not building cars to compete with other makers, just building cars in the direction the company saw fit and the company's traditional market eating it up.

As long as the 2er comes out and has e46 size, with simplistic options and manual trans, people like me will be pleased. If not, I am perfectly happy driving and older well maintained car.

Bumpers, door handles, mirrors, side vents and wheels....

I LIKE IT !

This f32 looks 10x better than the f30 sedan in my opinion. IMO the grilles and headlights flow together much better! To me, the f32 is what the f30 should have looked like in terms of front-end styling. The f32 makes the f30 look awkward and almost as if something is missing or unfinished in the front end, especially where the headlights meet the grille.

Thoughts?
