Vargas GC Turbo Upgrade

I am seriously thinking of pulling the trigger on the Vargas GC Turbo but have a few questions.

(1) Can I have it installed and run my current tune while waiting for a new custom tune?

(2) What type of HP can I expect out of it w/ an e30-e50 tune?

(3) Do I need to change my Plugs? I only have about 8K miles on the car.

18' 440i F32

Current Mods-
-XHP Stage 3
-BM3 Stage 2+ E30
-Spool FX-180 HPFP
-AWE Cat-Back Exhaust
-Agency Power B58 Short Ram Intake
-Evolution Racewerks Catless Downpipe

Thanks

1) yes, that's what I did, just don't go too hard.
2) 520-600whp
3) I did what my tuner told me: to run ngk spark plugs gapped to 0.022 (for running ethanol)

I went with Carry Jordan at first, but his turn around times were very long and I actually ditched him before the tune was finished and went with Paul Johnson. I had a very good experience with PJ.

Do you have similar mods as me? How does the car feel after the turbo upgrade?

I have been driving the GC for two years. I drove more than 60.000 km. Boost 19-29psi. The 98Ron has about 500bhp. I recommend that you put WMI injection right away. 2 / CM7. With it you will have over 600bhp power on the E40 / WMI.
And make two cards. One 98Ron / WMI. 23psi Ok. HP50 Ok. No limits.
And the second one, E40 / WMI, is for fast broaching. 28psi Ok. HP50 limit 6 gear at 600-650NM.

Until you have decided on a tuner, you can put GC and drive MHD st2 + 102Ron (98 + E85 = 15/20) and E40 without any problems.

Yes, you can expect low 6s for 100-200kmh or low 7s 60-130 on E50 28psi

1) What Jay5k said
2) My car made 532/584 on a mustang dyno. My mods are pretty similar to yours. xHP Stage 3, AFE catback, Active Autowerke Catted DP, Dorch Stage 1 HPFP.
3) Also what Jay5k said. I also went with Paul and he advised that I get NGK spark plugs gapped to .022

I definitely suggest you do it. It really wakes up the car and honestly, it's the best mod I've done to my car. So far, it's still been a reliable daily driver *knocks on wood*

I've got the VTT GC and run 93 octane + WMI with a tune from Cary Jordan. You'll probably make more power than I do given the Ethanol factor, but as a data point comparable to your contemplated setup, I put down just over 500 WHP / 550 TQ @ 25 PSI and 11.5 degrees peak timing. Dyno chart and log below.

Best of luck with your setup ... you will not regret going with the VTT GC!

What mix is your WMI, 51/49 boost juice? When do you have it start spraying vs maxing?

Yes, it will work without problems. 24 / 25psi Tim 16.
But I recommend to put the methanol kit. Then you immediately have 580WHP at 27 / 28psi Tim 17.

Yes I'm using boost juice so 51/49. I have the WMI kicking in at 10 PSI and the spray increases linearly in relation to boost. On my setup, maximum spray occurs at ~25 PSI or around 3200 RPMS all the way to redline.

Without the ethanol (pump 93 + WMI) what do you think is reasonable for peak timing?? I'm at 11.5 degrees .... thinking I might be a bit conservative??

Hey guys. I'm thinking about upgrading my turbos to Pure800s w/ an E40 or E50 blend custom tune depending on whats more beneficial.

What PSI target would you guys recommend to stay in the reliable psi range for these turbos? Looking to reach 500-550whp with reliable psi targets and whatever else that would be marked as reliable.

your PSI will depend on timing ignition. I recommend you get a custom map (we offer Jordan Tuning), they'll create one that's reliable and safe for your setup

98Ron/WMI 23psi 14tim.
It also depends on your turbine. GC - 24/25 psi Ok.
Pure800 23.5psi will suffice.

So that's 690 hp to the wheels? Impressive!

We have one dyno stand in the city. And he is already 20 years old. So this is an approximate power. The meaning of the measurement is to compare how it was a year ago and how it is now. The E50 firmware and WMI Port gave an additional 60hp. And 0.5s at 100/200. And all this on the GC, on which I have already covered 60,000 km in two years.
