What do you mean?

I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but I guess BMWNA gave the go-ahead to switch me into another car, so long as it's not an F30. But like I said, the vibration is GREATLY reduced now (which I wish I would have known 2 weeks ago), so we're likely going to just keep it. Such a sharp looking car, and I really don't want to get into another SUV, having coming out of an ML500.

Ohhh.. no freakin idea. Re-balanced/mounted tires, I guess? It's the same tires/wheels.. I don't think they did any hardware changes to the steering rack or anything else.

Like I said, 90% of my frustration was with their failure to communicate what the hell was going on. And now I'm so torn.. if they would have just given the car back after 3 days with it in this condition, I would have been fine.. now I feel like I should change out of principle, simply for wasting 2.5 weeks of my time.

Just keep it. You like it and it's not like they left you without a car. If you moved into something you don;t like as much then you are penalizing yourself. There are certain things you do on principle but I don't think that this should be one of them.

Then it is not a "lemon" are you sure you practice law? They are offering you a "buy back" at which point you will also need to sign a NDA and statement that you have settled all future claims/suits towards the dealer and BMWNA.

Sounds like BMWNA is doing right by you and is thus providing excellent customer service and fulfilling all their obligations. Good luck with your suit.... sue happy America- makes us all proud.

Sorry that I don't post every single interaction I have with them. The service center said to wait And it will be a lemon..then bmwna stepped in.

I'll make sure to provide you with typed transcriptions of every conversation I have with BMW from now on.

And if you haven't realized why they wouldn't let you near your car.... bc you'd sue them if anything happened. They needed the field engineer to sign off. (BMWNA reads these forums)

+1 I agree my friend. Sticking with the F30 over the X3 is a great decision simply because it seems that you would be 'settling' on the X3 rather than it being your primary target on your first purchase. Hopefully, your F30's issue will start to 'disappear' as you put more miles on it. In any case, enjoy your F30 my friend!

OOOh, I love legal talk. Unfortunately I"m only a first year law student. Trust me, I wasn't bored at all. Actually had a hard on listening to the two counselors go back and forth.

You'll get over it. Especially if/when/once you graduate and have been in practice for a few years. Most lawyers assimilate it to some degree and it pops out in conversation on occasions like this (warranted). But some deliberately pepper their conversations with legal phrases/terminology to show off. They're bloody irritating and most normal people (including normal lawyers) give them a wide berth.

If I'm not mistaken, the OP decided to proceed with purchasing the X3 rather than keeping his 328i? Is that correct mfear? Has there still not been an improvement with the vibration issue?

it's more annoying when you're still in law school, out at a bar or something and the waiter breaks a glass or messes up your order and the big mouth law student decides to talk about the elements needed to prove the negligence of the barkeep.

the f30 was leased, switching into a leased x3

no improvement. have to drive it in sport mode in order to assuage the issue -- which is fun, and all ...but not normal.
