Gear change jolts
Hi all this past week when pulling away in stop start traffic the car changes into second but with a jolt which feels way more harsh than it did last week but if I pull away normally from lights for example it is smooth as usual, this happens in all driving modes so I'm stumped does anyone else have this problem or had it and know a fix.
Thanks Matt. |

Is this when you first drive the car, or after it's reached full operating temperature ?
Falling ambient temperatures can have an effect : transmission fluid viscosity and mechanical tolerances can change. The AT in my car is always more jerky in 1st/2nd in the winter months when the car is still cold but generally this disappears once fluids and components have warmed.

Not sure. Possible, I suppose, if you have the AT without Sorts Auto and have just coded it.

Mine has started to do this a little bit. I am putting it down to colder temperatures because it's fine once warm

Mine does this when warm it really kicks you in the back when changing into second when applying light throttle but when moving off with more speed it changes normally I can't work it out

Yeah that's normal, mine does it a little when the ambient temperature drops but it's smoothed out long before the engine temp needle has started to move off the bottom on the dial. Sounds like the issue the OP is having is not normal though.
