Check engine light, no codes
So my check engine light comes on, but there are no codes to be found in iDrive or hidden menu, and none to be found using my Foxwell diagnostic tool. It was lit for three days. Yesterday I poked around under the hood looking for disconnected wires or vacuum lines, everything was fine. On a whim I pulled the hot film air mass meter, shown here, https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...-unit/IKT1Ffp4
I sprayed it with MAF cleaner, put it back in. This morning when I started the car the light was out. Coincidence? Maybe, but now I've added cleaning it to my regular maintenance schedule. |

+1... newest "CEL no codes" thread I could find. No messages in iDrive, all "OK" there. First CEL ever (but I've only had the car from 38K to 44K miles)
Of course the car did this when I was about to put my E46 325 'vert into winter storage, and while waiting to get my hands on a scanner, not having any idea if the problem was severe, I decided to keep driving the 325 instead. Now I'm waiting for a clear/warm weather break to rewash the 325 and get it to storage - First World problem (oh, and my CEL quietly cleared itself after about 7-8 short drives. most of my drives are pretty short)
