Bilstein B16 PSS10 (part # 48-217170)

Hey folks, was wondering if someone on the forums can help about the coilovers mentioned in the title.

I own a ‘13 F30 335i with EDC. I have been searching for a set of good coilovers and came across a set of Bilstein B16 PSS10. However, I’m getting conflicting info. I have read and been told that the PSS10 (part # 48-217170) does not fit my car since it came with EDC. No explanation on why it doesn’t work, just that it doesn’t work.

At the same time, I am hearing/reading that the coilover setup is all the same and I will need an EDC delete.

I reached out to a sales rep at Bilstein but I did t get a definitive answer from the rep I talked to. I emailed Bilstein, hopefully they will respond back.

I see there are a few threads of the coilovers being installed, but can’t seem to tell if OP had EDC or not.

Thanks for the help!

It will fit. All you have to make sure is that if you are xdrive, get the xdrive coilovers. If you are rwd either will fit. Rwd coilovers are longer in the front and will hit xdrive coilovers, but the opposite will be fine.

A cancelation kit or simply coding out your edc will work if you chose non edc coilovers for your edc car. Google how to code it out.

I am RWD so I should be good.

Are you speaking from experience or forum knowledge on the fitment? I really want to confirm this because I can't return it once bought (buying it from private seller).

This is also the response from emailing Bilstein USA (see attachment). Not sure if they are just trying to get me to buy the Damptronic or if it doesn't actually fit.

There are plenty of threads documenting this approach. Non edc coilovers + (cancellation kit or coding it out). The cancellation kit is just a plug with a resistor to make the DME believe that edc compatible shocks are a still installed

That I understand. Basically I am questioning the structural design of the coilovers. I know one has an electrical plug for EDC while the other doesn't, but I wanted to make sure they will mount the same and fit the same area. I believe KW makes the same struts/springs for both EDC and non EDC, only difference in their kit is some comes with the EDC cancellation kit while others don't.

They will fit you just need to make sure what drivetrain you have x-drive or RWD. I just installed some Koni Yellows yesterday. I have EDC you are going to have to replace the endlinks. The passenger side is different. I just bought some Febi replacements. Which are made by Bilstein go figure.

Based on part # 48-217170 (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bilstein...48-217170~bil/), these are for RWD. So these should fit.

Gonna wait for a few more responses before I actually commit to these.

Thanks for the reply so far you guys!
