That depends on the built year of the car or the headunit.
Premium, Next or Evo will be the name.
You can find out the name of your map by going to Navigation -> Option button -> Version navigation system.

I hope I understand you correctly.
If you have now installed the Road Map North America Next, you cannot simply install the Road Map Europe Next.
It is possible, but something has to be programmed / coded first.

Here the differences/coverage:

Both regions (East and West) "Road Map Europe Next" included:
Full coverage:
Belgien, Dänemark, Deutschland, Finnland, Griechenland, Italien, Kroatien, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Niederlande, Norwegen, Österreich, Polen, San Marino, Slowakische Republik, Slowenien, Schweden, Schweiz, Tschechische Republik, Ungarn und Vatikanstadt.

I finally sorted this. Successfully updated my maps.

The problem turned out to be that I was using a Mac not Windows. The Mac places hidden files on the USB stick that stops the car from reading it.

I took the USB stick to a windows 10 pc, removed the hidden files from the root and bingo it updated.

What I remain unsure about is wether exFAT formatting will still work or whether it HAS to be FAT32 only.

Hope this helps someone else.

For anyone else having this issue, who doesn't have access to a Windows PC (Like myself) There's an App on the App Store called CleanMyDrive 2 which will remove the temp files before ejecting. Worked perfectly then.

Interesting as I formatted a pen drive tonight in my Mac just using the built in drive tools, then used the BMW download manager to create the pen drive with the maps on and all worked fine.

Can anybody help? I have downloaded the “Road Map EUROPE WEST Next 2021-1” for my Mrs X3 tonight, the map was provided by BMW. I then downloaded the BMW CIC/NBT Keygen by Jagaer to update my 4 series as well. I got a code after filling in all the fields, when I tried to use the code it come back incorrect. Now my car gives me the following error “To start the navigation, please enter the activation code.” So now I have no Nav let alone a newer map :-( can anybody help me with an activation code my last few digits of the vin are KT32472.
Any help will be greatly appreciated otherwise I am going to have togo tail between legs to BMW!!
