Purpose of these trim pieces?

Wondering what the purpose of these trim pieces is? The one inside the arm rest....does it snap out? Can I mount another USB port in its place?

The other is beneath the rubber tray inside the cigarette lighter compartment. Anyone mounted USB or other port here for MMI, AUX-IN, etc?

The first is a small LED light that illuminates the center console compartment at night.

The second I'm not sure.

Second one is where the ash tray usually is. Seems you are missing the insert for it

I took out the insert to look if I can mount a USB port, then wondered if those slots below have another purpose, like for ports/switches.

Aren't the slots what the insert snaps in to?

It just seems to sit on top, doesn't look like it snaps in there. Unless the previous owner somehow tore it off.
