Wheel Stand & Covers

I've just purchased a new set of wheel, the spares will be used over winter.

What are people using for storage of the unused set, I'm after something to stop them getting damaged.

For now, stood side by side at the back of the garage in wheel bags.
In the near future I'm going to get a piece of wood just thin enough to go through the centres and hang them from the garage roof to give the car more space. Three lengths of climbing rope should easily support the weight as should the steel beam in the roof..... it better, they're going to be hanging over the bonnet

Got a wheel tree and also some wheel bags. Both work well. Wheel tree takes up to 19” alloys and 265 width.

I wouldnt

Stand them side by side I would lie them on top of one another. Standing them up may lead to flat spots on the tyres. I put blankets between mine but the poster with the poles sticking out of the wall is a smart idea

As above lay them flat & increase tyre pressures with robust card between them. Have them in tyre covers or just cover the lot with a form of removals blanket.
Make sure they are all cleaned and polished / coated before storage to prevent corrosion.

They should not be stored standing in their tread unless they are just tyres without wheels.

They should be put flat on the ground and stacked on top of each other. I use light wheel bags with the wheels separated by pieces of card board.

I will be putting my winter wheels and tyres on soon and have stored them(and summers when off the car) this way for several years without a problem. If you use google there is plenty to tell you what to do and what not to do. Here's one graphic I found.
