Bay Area Shop Recommendations

I'm looking for a shop in the Bay Area to do the replacement of my front control arms.

Thus far getting varied labor rates, so curious I anyone has experience with the following shops:

Bay Motor Works in San Francisco on S. Van Ness St. They did my initial diagnosis. Labor rates are $160 / hr. They'll let me bring my own parts.

The Shop in San Bruno. They won't give me a quote until I bring it in. Labor rates are $105 / hr.

Curious if anyone has used them before I make the longer trek to San Bruno.

Highly recommend George at HighTech Automotive Service in Burlingame. I moved to East Bay and still looking for a shop like this. https://www.yelp.com/biz/high-tech-a...sq=Bmw+Service

PS looks like he moved to Redwood City but not sure

FWIW, there's A LOT of shops in the Bay Area. If you are calling for quotes, it's about 2-3 hours in labor... 2 for the install, 1 for the alignment, Average shop rate is $175/hour in the Bay Area so... $525. TRW (BMW OEM) Control Arms are $175 for a pair at retail (FCP Euro), so $700 plus tax. You labor rate quotes are pretty darn good.

It's not a hard job to do, the tricky part is that the rest of the job after the install is torquing the control arm nuts with the car fully loaded... so a lift is handy for that. So most shops will do the install, put it on the alignment rack... torque bolts and then do the alignment.
