It was bad fitment.
The side sills were fine. Honestly there isnt much to the side sills. I wouldnt waste my money on oem ones. I use to have oem difuser before i upgraded my exhaust. Oem difuser fit like a glove. In terms of material...seem the same. I think where oem counts is the front difuser. Fitment issues is very easy to spot |

Ok, bad fitment, but material seemed fine
I've already ordered the OEM front spoiler & side sills as wanted them to fit as best they can. Realise the side sills may be overkill, but cost was only 33% extra over non-OEM so happy to pay the additional cost to be AOK (more money than sense possibly ). Rear diffuser was delivered today so will have a look at it tonight when I get home from work, here's hoping everything ok with it Appreciate your feedback and info, this is what's great about these forums getting honest answer/info from honest people

Rear Diffuser fitted with before & after shots, not a big difference in the car, but for $282 not a large outlay.
Took 10 mins to get the old diffuser off, but about 30 minutes getting the new one on (20 of those minutes was trying to get the tabs to sit home properly):

Front Splitter - $585 Side Sills - $475 (with my 15% discount for 2nd item came down to $399.50) Eurodivision do the side sills for $275, but will need to add $25 postage (bandw_parts free postage). $300 for non-OEM, but I was willing to pay the extra $99.50 for OEM. They also do Front splitter for $329 (plus $25 postage) so your call if you want to save some money going non-OEM

Great, thanks for the response mate. Your car looks good! I'll probably stick with OEM for this stuff. The only thing that has got me questioning myself is how these parts will look on my car!
I've got a Sapphire Black car, and I'm nervous that the matte black will just look a bit strange. The matte black works beautifully on every other colour, but can't find too many pics of it on a black car. And I'm not sure it's worth the cost of having the matte black parts sprayed to match the car. |

Would love to give you advice, but that would honestly have to come from someone with a dark car - good luck with figuring out what to do

The one addition I would ask is where did you get the short side sills extensions for the rear, they look a great addition if not too dear.

Changed over the front grills today from original chrome surround single slats to gloss black surrounds with M3 double slats (3 metallic painted). Only took about 10 minutes to change over, managed to squeeze my hands between the slats to pop out the tabs (once 1st grill out 2nd one is a 30 second job).

Only pain is getting the car of the ground enough for drilling, so I'm getting some ramps and a trolley jack (realise don't do anything under a jack, need adequately supported/stabilised). I'll let you know how I go, but from other reviews don't seem to bad a job to do.

Finally got around to fitting the front splitter yesterday. Took me a couple of hours, but that was really taking my time (I'm a desk jocky so not so great with my hands), could easily be done within an hour no problem.

Also fitted the side sills. These took me 30 minutes each side, but could easily do one in 15 minutes no problem.

Next I'd like to paint the Brake Calipers.
I'm thinking of going with the M-Sport Blue. Yellow & Gold seem a bit bright (for me), and the Red I'm unsure about (think the Blue will go well with my White car). As the M-Sport version of the 340i comes with the same 4 piston Brembo M-Sport front brakes (except larger rotor and Blue with M decal) then it's not really cheating Realise rear brakes are only 1 piston, not like the 2 piston M-Sport brakes, so I may leave these the silver (rusty) colour, or go all out and paint these also. I suppose unless you know much about BMW and their brakes then most people really wouldn't know and just think I've got Blue brakes front & back (might be sneaky and also get the M-Sport decal ) On here a lot have previously spoken about 'G2' Caliper Paint being very good, but can't find anyone who will do shipping to Oz except for G2 themselves, but they charge US$59 shipping for a US$54 product - ouch

The front splitter just blends into the car, for me, and does look good. The biggest surprise was the side sills which I thought wouldn't do much aesthetically, but I really like the addition of these. Easy to fit, and I'm not great with my hands, so shouldn't be too much trouble for you. If you have any questions about fitting just ask. Hope yours comes in soon, you'll like the look Cheers John PS when fitting the splitter make sure to screw the middle section to the existing bumper as I forgot, and once installed very difficult to take apart to do then. I just drilled a couple of plastic rivets either side so no issue with affecting splitter when going fast(ish)

Haha I was actually talking about the button.
I have just spent a whole heap on stereo upgrade from HIFI to Bimmertech/Bavsound, tint, some minor paintwork courtesy of the previous owner, ceramic coating (booked in) and bits and bobs. I might wait a while before I do the front bumper. It is tempting but I am worried it will get pretty scratched up/ higher chance to get curbed; do you have this problem? Also if anyone is interested, Supercheap Auto is currently doing the low profile 3T jack for $186 (pretty good price). I'm planning to do my own oil changes and will be looking at doing the brake rotor and pads myself when they come due soon. |

I've got Harman Kardon for my HiFi so will leave it as that. If your 328i came with standard speakers the Bavsound will be a good upgrade Ceramic Coating - are you getting that done by AutoFX, and is it the whole car or just the front? I've already scraped the new Front Splitter coming off a high driveway , but as it's matt plastic a quick rub and hard to see the scrapes unless getting on hands and knees. I went and got the 3T low profile Trolley Jack. Firstly that thing weighs a tonne (44kg) and is built like a tank. Secondly the low profile isn't as low profile as I thought and can't get under the front of my car with the new front splitter . I can use my low profile ramps to lift front up first then get the trolley jack under. I also got the 3T stands they had on sale, so if I want to do some work myself down the track all good to go. I'm going to paint my Brake Calipers (either Blue or Red). The 340i has the same 4 pot Brembo Calipers on front as the M-Sport, just not the colour and decal. I was looking at having my wheels painted Black, but now thinking of putting the money instead towards some new drilled/slotted Rotors (good price for a set of 4 Stoptech Rotors from Mike on the forum; X-PH.com). I'm not very good mechanical wise and changing the Rotors has me a bit worried, but if it's just removing the Calipers bracket nuts, removing Calipers (hang to the side and can paint at same time) and essentially changing Rotors over (giving everything a good clean) then I may give it a go Cheers John
