I use 3M Di-Noc. It's nearly twice as thick as most vinyls, so it will stretch a lot more before ripping. It's on my mirror cover here:

Sorry to semi-hijack the thread OP.

I'm interested in wrapping the rails of my roof rack (cross bars) either Shadowline or with a carbon fiber product like Di-Noc. How challenging do you feel the install and material compliance will be with Di-Noc on my application? Example picture:

It should work, make sure to get it down into the U-channel so that the plastic inserts will lock it down. Use 3M Adhesion Promoter for best results.
