Does anybody have a valeter?

There’s a bloke very near to me who has some really good reviews, I was thinking about getting him in once a month with me doing it myself in between.

I can clean a car but I’m no 2 bucket rubber gloves polished tailpipe bloke so was wondering if once a month circa £40 a pop is worth it?

I had my Audi ceramic coated and then had the same guys to wash it every month or so - and didn’t bother with the washes in between. Well worth the money, the coating helps keep it clean.

Aren't you about to be £1300 a month better off?

There's a (very well off) bloke down the road from me with an MB S63 coupe (I'm not very good on mercs, I think that's what it is). He has a visiting valeter and the car looks f***ing amazing, all the time. It's in a deep rich black/brown colour and is stunning. I'll ask him what he pays. Must also find out what coating he has on it, and what products the valeter uses.

My brother is a valeter / detailer and has some very high profile clients. Never cleans mine though.

Over the years he's transitioned his business from £25 a pop jobs to £250 a day detailing jobs as the pop-up car washes have lessened the value of proper valeting. He's actually better off for it - less work and miles but earning a pretty good living.

Oops! As you can tell from the time I was on a night shift and very tired.

Always confuses me when old threads get suddenly resurrected.

On a darker car the Ceramic coating is well worth it. You literally just wash and dry it and it looks like new each time.

Had mine 2 stage polished and ceramic coated. Just using the pressure washer lifts 90% of the dirt. I give it a clean myself every other weekend if the weathers good, and the car always pops in sunlight. I don't really see the need for a valeter for just maintenance washes. Rather save myself ~£40, usually only takes me just over half an hour

Again, we've got an old VAX hoover which I just keep in the garage for hoovering the car out every 3-4 weeks. Plug it in and use the attachments that came with it. Jobs done in 15 mins, quick hoover of the carpets and boot then I go over the trim with the brush attachment.
On a side note, if I had a convertible I don't think I'd ever be comfortable enough with parking up and leaving the roof down. I don't particularly like any public parking spaces where there are other cars hahaha

Asked the owner yesterday what products he uses on his MB. His detailer/valeter uses Kamikaze products to protect and seal, and Sonax products to clean and maintain.
I've honestly never seen a car finish which looks this good.
