Xenon headlamp washers

Quick question that I can't find in the manual....

Do the xenon headlight washers stop working below a certain temperature?

Just noticed that mine are not washing at the moment and thinking about it I can't remember when the last worked.

Cheers

They wash when the headlights are on.

Ahh...probably due to headlights not being on. Having not been at work haven't used the car in the dark as much.

Thanks both for the help. Much appreciated.

On this subject, does anyone know which fuse covers the headlight wash? I hate the ruddy things. Leaves a nice covering of wax stripping film all over my nice clean bonett grr. I normally take out the fuse to disable them. In the f30 it shows the ramp symbol onthe fuse map so looks like it is dealer only ???anybody know ?

Can't help you, but I do seem to recall seeing this available to be coded off, which I will do at some stage, as it annoys me too. We don't have the same issues as Europe does with slush etc, necessitating headlight washing.

...and let's be honest, they're only marginally effective. i always find I have to stop and manually clean the headlights after a long wet drive.

I'll add it to the coding list to find...

You can probably just pull the electrical plug out of the washer pump! I used to do this when i had headlight washers on my E46 in the summer as it's very annoying to have your nice cleaned and polished paintwork covered in soapy water all up the bonnet and down the bumper!

Although washer bottle was in engine bay on E46 so maybe not easy to get to now it's in the wing?!
