Hey everyone,
im happy i got to find an extensive thread for the new pure turbos. im looking to buy the pure 500, i just got to upgrading (got some bolt ons)and think this is a good upgrade.

i have an x4 n55 35i PWG (Xdrive) wrong forum i know, but there is literally zero conversation going for those turbos anywhere else. i wanted to get yall feedback on some points. (btw im very new to this so excuse if i sound ignorant or dumb i literally have no idea what 90% of the comments are about)

1)is it a good upgrade (i only want to make decent power and bring my n55 to life, im not trying to upgrade something that needs to upgrade another thing, which will need to upgrade another) just basic upgrades that make the most sense and bang for buck without ending up costing a fortune.

2) should i get the inlet? i saw from the comments that its good for ewg, i got pwg

3)i got the MHD super license, still didn't hook it up, waiting for my catted DP and IC to arrive, I read i need a custom tune, wouldnt MHD work?

4) do I need anything else to add that im missing or supplement what i have? so far i got Air intake, Charge Pipe, Catted DP, 5'' intercooler, MHD, 1 step spark plugs and ignition coils.


for Mike from x-ph, what yall talking about getting some discount for running the dynos and stuff and can i get on that /:

2) Yes - not related to EWG or PWG but to improve the airflow for the turbo
3) Yes, you need a custom tune to take advantage of your Pure500. No MHD OTS maps for that
4) All good. Stay with factory plug at factory gap

PWG PURE750 still "3 weeks out" - does anyone know?

Is the turbo using the factory housing meaning that all existing auxiliaries are direct bolt-on?

Just to add a slightly finer point on #3 since the guy asking was admittedly a noob - you CAN run MHD OTS maps with an upgraded turbo but the benefit will be minimal. You need the custom tune to really unlock the power gains of the upgraded turbo.

I have pure500 installed on n55 ewg 14’ 335i, mppk intake and exhaust. Arm intercooler, b58 hpfp gen 1, catted CTS downpipe, pure turbo inlet. I only did virtual dyno between when I had oem turbo running on e20 mhd stage 2+ which was showing 408whp vs 449whp mhd custom Jordan e30 tune, pure500 turbo, I know it may not be as accurate as real dyno but it shows how much better powerband is with pure500 turbo. Overall I’m very happy with it.

Ewg n55 turbo vs pure
500, @6200rpm oem turbo made 360whp vs 420whp pure500, I did run in 4th gear until 6500rpm, at 6500rpm oem turbo made 330whp vs 416whp pure500, definitely seems like it’s making 60-70whp in upper range.
