2018 440i GC F36 Android Phone Screen Mirror
It looks like I can enable Android screen mirror through coding. After entering my VIN number, I see Bimmer-Tech offers Android screen mirror but they would charge a lot for the over the phone assistance. I was hoping Bimmer-Tech could send a recoding USB that I could just simply plug in, but for some reason it was not an option based on my VIN.
I tried looking at the Carly and BimmerCode websites. Both offer a ton of coding options, but both do not show the Android screen mirror as an option. The Esys looks way too complicated. I probably would try, but I can't find a step by step procedure anywhere on how to enable Android screen mirror with Esys. My car has all technology options(WiFi, Enhanced Bluetooth, Wireless charging, etc). Any suggestions on how I can get the Android screen mirror for my car for a person who is not very computer/tech savvy? Last edited by throwingcopper33; 12-03-2019 at 08:37 AM.. |

If you could try ESYS, I’ll help you over Teamviewer.

I am going to try Bimmercode first. I bought the OBDLink MX+ adapter and paid for the full version of Bimmercode. Someone with Bimmercode responded to my email for support. He said that to enable the Android phone screen mirroring option, I will need to go into expert mode within the Bimmercode app. I tried this, but I see a million options that do not make sense to me. I have sent another email for more specific support. Has anyone enabled this option through Bimmercode?

Still trying to piece the puzzle together. It looks like the first thing I have to do is enable the Video in Motion option. This was easy to do with Bimmercode, as I didn't have to use the expert mode to turn on this option. If I can turn on this option with Bimmercode, then I'm sure 99% of you can do it as well. I verified that this option is working, as I was playing a video from my USB drive all the way up to 65mph.
I have a response from Bimmercode support about what to change in Expert mode to get the phone screen mirroring option. I will try that this weekend, and let you know how it turns out. |

Success!
After going into Expert mode in the Bimmercode App, you have to change the following: Headunit(HU_NBT) > Expert Mode > 3000 HMI > ENT_MIRACAST to aktiv ENT_MC_WLAN_STREAM_DMP to aktiv ENT_MIRACAST_DISPLAY_SETTINGS to aktiv ENT_MC_WLAN_STREAM_DMP_COVERART to aktiv ENT_MC_WLAN_STREAM_DMP_VIDEO to aktiv Headunit(HU_NBT) > Expert Mode > 3003 TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE > WLAN_WIFI_DIRECT to aktiv WLAN_STATUS to aktiv Select code. After the car reboots, you should see the screen mirroring option when trying to add a new device. I'm pretty happy with this option. It would be perfect if there was a way to zoom in to full display during screen mirroring. I can zoom in to full display with a video on USB. |

Wow thanks for going after this coding mod. I was looking at a way to mirror waze onto the screen and it looks like this should work.
