F36 435d - going hybrid questions
Hi guys,
In the quest for more power, I've decided to contemplate going hybrid replacing the big K26 turbo (the small isn't really necessary). I found the guy who is doing these upgrades promising good power and with good results. But have couple of questions that would be good to clarify: 1. It seems like what he does is mainly upgrades to the E90 335ds - hence, is the turbo in M57 and N57 the same? 2. I would need to upgrade fuel pump and was recommended 2005 535d R90 pump - which sounds the same as what Ecotune has for their stage 3 upgrade (R90 Bosch CP3). Thus similarly - will these fit in N57? 3. Is it possible upgrade the turbo and keep DPF? I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but M50Ds have DPF and push 400. On tunes they push 450-515hp still with DPF. 4. Operationally, can you put the new hybrid inside the engine without any change and at least somewhat run the car without a ECU tune? I'm asking since I'm not sure if there is anybody near me who could do the flash so one option is to put it in and drive somewhere but not sure if I can 5. Lastly - transmission wise wasn't the one in E90 stronger? This turbo can push upwards of 900 (& even much more) Nm. In E90 you could unlock 1000Nm with xHP, but not sure if I just wont blow the gearbox in F3X :/ Thanks a ton for any help or perspective! Last edited by luke1990; 10-02-2019 at 03:56 PM.. |
