You have to select somewhere is the settings to always boot in the "OEM mode". Otherwise you can switch between modes by pressing and holding the menu button.

Not really my business, but I completely don't get what you're doing. Why don't you buy an OEM screen instead? The are superior quality to Chinese shite anyways.

Don’t think BMW makes any that will fit in the F80 without modification any ideas?

F80 is just F30 on steroids and screens are interchangeable. But F80 comes with a screen already, so what's the issue?

Couple of things:
1. If you get an Android screen, touch will not work on the OEM side - it just doesn't and there is nothing you can do about it without reverse engineering and reprogramming the microcontroller on the Android screen.
2. Depending on your iDrive version, you could get an OEM 10.25" touchscreen and code it to your car. But bear in mind that only iDrive 6 and higher support touch inputs.

Download can be found at Github.

To download click on the green "Code" icon and select "Download ZIP" and download to your Laptop or computer.
Unzip the File into the root of your System for example in a folder called "root", do not unzip it into your Userprofile folder or Desktop !

Connect your Android headunit to the same wireless network as your laptop/computer is connected to.
Start "install-root.bat" and enter the IP adress of your headunit.

Info: do NOT start the batch file ad Administrator, start it normally !

while using android auto if I press the steering wheel voice button it works to activate google assistant (ok google), but at the same time activates the BMW voice assistant making it unusable. Is there any way to disable to BMW one?
