Hey guys, long time lurker here.
Just took the plunge and got BM3 w/ a Stage 1 93 octane tune flashed onto my 340i. Stock sparkers at 30K on the ODO. Thanks! I've got the 1 step colder NGK's waiting to go in this weekend, from what I've been reading leaving them at stock gap for a stage 1 would be fine. Anything in this log that might indicate otherwise? |

Your timing is pretty low most probably fuel not exactly 93 octane, my guess you will need to use 91 octane tune.
Do another log preferably in 4th gear and make sure you add timing correction to your parameters when logging.

It's got a full tank of 93 Chevron in there but I did put a bottle of Chevron fuel injector cleaner when I filled up last week but not sure if that lowers octane rating any. Either case, will re-log and post later! Thanks! |

It looks ok nothing to worry about, cyl 4 is not pulling timing in 4th gear.
It seems you had a wheel spin between 3400 to 4400 RPM in 3rd gear, better log in 4th gear all the way to 6500 RPM. Quote:

Hi Everyone i'm pretty new to tuning and just wanted to make sure everything was ok with theses logs.

Looking good mate.
Sorry forgot to tell you this, also add timing correction in the BM3 log parameters. I am not sure why BM3 are not enabling timing correction by defaualt in the logs they are very important. Quote:

Hi Guys, I've flashed my car since Nov 2020 and have only got the chance to log it today. It's flashed using Stage 2 91Oct OTS map and Stage 2 XHP tools.
Hardware update (Spark Plugs are new, still using OEM): - AA Catless Downpipe - MST Open Air Intake - Eisenmann Race Muffler I feel like my ignition timing are not the best under WOT, seems like Cylinder 1 is pulling timing; need the experts input here... Sorry to ask another question.. Do the BM3 datalogs have any option to detect Boost temperature or Charge Pipe temperature? I cant seem to find it..
Because Im wondering whether the spiking Boost temp is the culprit of the timing pulls? |

On my B58TU (Supra) on Pure800 + Meth
In 5th gear When my car is cold - Boost target is around 23psi After driving around for an hour or so.. When my car is hot - Boost target is around 28psi IAT, oil temps, coolant temps are all the same.. The ONLY difference is fuel temp in LPFP (36C vs 60C) Feels as if octane is low because of high fuel temp and car ups boost to reach targets.. I have tested this several times.. Has anyone come across something similar? |

Finally did my run with the correct parameters.. The first few pulls shows that Cylinder 1 Correction is >3 degrees all way to red line (typical BM3 OTS map problem as @kern417 points out earlier in this thread).
Interestingly however, in my last 3 pulls - timing corrections are rather improved compared to the first 3.. Need your input, is there anything that I need to be concern with these data? Am not planning to do meth and custom tune currently; will adding some octane booster helped? Logs aren't looking too good, does anyone else have a problem with hpfp dropping significantly from target on this ots map? Seems to be consistently right around 3k rpm in the logs. Timing doesn't look good either..

I know its not everyone's prefered method for getting more power out of their b58 but I'm running a jb4 on map 2.
Mods: Cts turbo intake vrsf catless dp with o2 spacer on the rear o2 sensor Xhp trans tune NGK spark plugs gapped to .022 I was finally able to log in 4th gear but I ran out of road towards the end of log. Will be going to an MHD BEF in the future to control my fuel trims better but can anyone explain what a high fuel trim means because Im at 49 out of 50 for most of run. https://datazap.me/u/aldor27/map-2-1...26-27-28-29-34 |
