Hi,
I found them thanks to you and downloaded the NBT M. I have a problem cause I'm only seeing the boot image, can't see the boot animation. Any help, please.

Just noticed im on version 3.8.0 and there is a newer one, My audio and software has worked perfect with Apple Car Play and Android etc.. Is there any benefit or reason to update it to the latest and greatest? I use Carplay 95% of the time.

Based on the advice given by others on this thread: do not update if it works and if you are happy with it. You are increasing the chances of something going wrong that's specific to your setup. Check out the features of the new version and see if you see anything that greatly benefits you that's worth taking a risk.

I figured that was still the rules to live by, Gonna do just that.. This things been rock solid the last 2 years... If I can recommend anything, if your an audiophile or want WAY BETTER audio.. Do yourself a favor and add a USB DAC, I cannot believe this is listed more in this thread.. I added a USB DAC and my Audio quality has gone up tremendously.

Just like RedErik said -
Android HU > USB port out > USB cable > DAC USB port in > DAC AUX port out > AUX cable > car AUX port in

I run this DAC it was like $130 but worth it

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HGCQ6NY...roduct_details

Sounds exactly like my OEM HK now and filled in what the Android setup was missing..

On a side note does anyone know how to get the Android Volume to remember its setting?

Everytime I get in the car I have to raise the Android Volume, It just doesnt save.. Is there a trick?

you can download the following app:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ol&hl=en&gl=US

Had the same issue too and the app fixed it, the rating is misleading but it works for me
I increased the default volume for a few apps
namely Zlink for external apps
internal apps i increased the default volume for Android Settings and a few others which i thought were related to sound settings

Let me understand the USB to DAC issue:

The sound/audio that is generated & processed in the Android HU and resides inside...is digital. But, the Android HU's has to output that somehow and they are using some cheap-ass internal DAC (Digital to Analog) audio output circuits way below CD-quality. That Android HU outgoing analog-signal is normally connected "internally" directly to the car HU's AUX port via the quad-connector interface between the Android HU and the car HU. Alternatively, the Android's own (external) AUX cable is connected to the car's armrest AUX input which uses another AUX port of the car's HU. The quality of the audio of both of these Android HU AUX's is about the same.

Now comes the external DAC solution: It takes the nice clean internal Android HU's digital signal and "siphons it" out via the Android HU's USB port into a quality high-fidelity (and pricey) external DAC adapter with at least 44kHz (CD quality or higher) analog output capability. This analog is then fed into the car's AUX port in the armrest.

Why doesn't the Android HU's BT connect directly to the car HU's BT? Or, if the Android HU's lacks that feature, why can't we use a USB to Bluetooth adapter from the Android HU USB-port and wirelessly transmit to the car's HU BT? The audio would remain digital all the way...?

for myself, it will be because i won't be able to connect my phone to the Android HU for wireless CarPlay (if i were to do the above)
however, i believe the latest android HU with BT5.0 will fix it nicely(?)
now that you mention it, i shall try and insert a BT 5.0 dongle into the USB of the Android HU, see if it works as an alternative source
Just tried, doesn’t work
besides, given the current market of micro DAC/Amps, 1 can find a very affordable DAC that will make the difference sound night and day
though i cant comment if the returns will diminish as we creep towards the higher priced DACs

cheap DACs : Shanling UA1 / Creative SXFI Amp / iBasso DC01/02/03/04
mid tier : lotoo paw s1 / dragonfly black
high end : dragonfly cobalt / THX Onyx / Earmen Sparrow

The volume issue you're having is caused by Safe Media Volume thingy on the Android. It basically sets the maximum volume to 60-70% when you plug in a USB headphones (this is how the DAC over USB is seen) to protect your hearing. If you want to go louder you have to do it manually then. There is a way to bypass that (maybe with some external apps as well as mentioned) by modifying the build.prop file.

It goes like that:
NEXT UP, YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW HOW TO USE ADB ON YOUR COMPUTER TO CONNECT TO YOUR DEVICE TO MODIFY BUILD.PROP
(((((WARNING))))): IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THIS RELIABLY WITH THE NEXT FEW ADB COMMANDS, DO NOT PROCEED. IF YOU DO NOT DO IT PROPERLY AND ALL IN ONE GO, YOU WILL, I REPEAT, YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE AND SEND IT TO A BOOT LOOP. WE DO NOT HAVE A RELIABLE UNBRICKING GUIDE SO YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

System Changes:
1. You will have to execute these ADB commands in a sequential way, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT EXECUTE ANYTHING IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING
2. Follow instructions here: https://gist.github.com/nicholaschum...9c7d5fa73176a1
3. After instructions are complete, go to Settings -> Sound and then Max out your Audio volume. This will now survive reboots after the commands above.
Remember these instructions must be done all over again if you update your system. DO NOT COPY AN OLD EDITED FILE FROM A PREVIOUS EXECUTION TO NEW UPDATES OR YOU WILL ENSURE A BRICK.

Thanks so much for posting this, Im an IT professional im sure I can do this fine im gonna try the above first.. If that works then I dont have to mess with this.. The DAC is a huge improvement though, Not sure why everyone isnt doing this.

Because Android 9 and 10 devices have BT locked to only accept phones - no other device will establish a reliable connection - we have our Chinese friends to thank for that. USB BT adapters don't work either as mentioned before. The only way to bypass audio issues on these devices is with external DAC and additional cables. Android 11 devices on the other hand will allow for multiple BT connections, however that has some drawbacks as well: if you use BT for audio output from Android to HU and want to use mobile phone with Android as well, then when you have a call and phone is taking over the BT connection where does the audio output go? AUX I'm afraid. It's fine if you don't want to use your phone with Android, but other than that, you still need alternative solution, i.e. DAC.

Agree, on my list there were always (in that order):
1. DAC.
2. Microphone (didn't end up using it that much though).
3. My keyboard app 😅
4. Custom theme which got replaced with ID7 launcher.
5. Custom boot animation.

Couldn't fix shit screen quality though 😕

Hello guys. Does anyone have an updated MCU and a firmware for this Android 9 HU?
I was looking on all the forums, but I wasn't able to find anything.
Thanks!

Hello,

I am planning to buy Android Multimedia with Car play and Android 10 system. It has 32GB and 2GB ram. What do you think about 2GB Ram? Will it run Navigation, Youtube, and related things smoothly?

In my area it is so rare to find 4GB ram multimedia.

For the reference, this is the link for the navigation I am planning to buy: https://www.kupujemprodajem.com/auto..._id=1517758339

Well if that is Snapdragon 625 with 2GB of RAM running Android 10 then I wouldn't bother - it's not the best experience. It might be Snapdragon 450 though, which will run smoother but I would rather search for SD625 4GB on Ali if you can't source it locally.

So which unit did you get exactly?

As for the split screen, it should work the same as on any other Android device but not all app might support that.
