powder coating brake calipers

I have the blue m sport brake calipers on my 2014 435 and I'm getting them powdercoated soon. I was quoted $500, this includes removing, disassembling and reassembling. Is this a good price?

As a comparo, I pay $200 to pc calipers at my local shop, but I have to remove them, disassemble and assemble myself for that price

Man if you already have the factory blue brakes why ruin them with a 3rd party refinishing?

I just want to be different as I see a lot of 435's have the same blue M sport brakes. I'm powder coating the OEM wheels black and the calipers yellow. Do you guys think I would be better off getting them painted instead?

Frankly, you'd be best off leaving well enough alone. There are tons of folks on here that would kill for the Blue MSport Calipers.

Do you have pics? What did you end up paying? Did you powder coat them or paint them?

I will be powder coating mine too - I bought a set of M Sports on ebay, for a good price with some paint damage (which didn't matter because I already had the intention of changing the color).

I will stick to BMW OEM colors...
But the blues are too common and "invisible", and I don't like the reds.
So yellow or orange it is - pending to orange.

But my big problem will be finding powder which will match close enough... not so easy in my country, and impossible to do the matching "remotely" (with a USA powder supplier, for example)...

Don't let people's personal opinions deter you from doing what you want to do on your car. Some people are scared to turn their own wrenches.

Brembo's are easily rebuildable, so painting/powder coating them is not an issue at all. It's very common.

I had mine painted Porsche Acid Green.

Get them painted instead so that it matches perfectly.

That looks great! My car is also Estoril Blue. What do you think of this color? Do you think it would look good with my wheels?

My car is also BSM. To match perfectly with the body, there's nothing like painting.
Original caliper color (blue, yellow, orange, red) is another matter, because those aren't bmw colors, those are brembo color for bmw, which nobody knows the exact composition or code (only conclusion I've seen is Estoril blue is a good match to the blues, and Phoenix yellow for the yellows is pretty close, too).
Bottom of line is, if you want body color, use body paint.

So $500 to remove the calipers, sandblast off the OEM paint, disassemble, powder coat and reassemble. I guess if the price sounds reasonable then I'll go ahead with it.

Need Powder Coating located at 27 Libella Ct, Newark, NJ 07105. Are you looking to get your calipers done too? What do you guys think of Brembo decals instead of the M decals? These brakes are Brembos after all. My wheels and valve stem covers already have the M decal on them.

I'm torn between powdercoating and painting. If you want something different go with the brembo decals. It's yours to customize.
