Who has the best price on oil change kit-F30?

I need an oil change kit for my 2012. It has been awhile since I bought so who seems to have a decent deal on an oil change kit?

For factory oil + filter, the best deal is $79 for N55 kit that includes 7L of twinpower 0W30 + BMW oil filter from getbmwparts.com(shipping is included).

If one chooses 5W30 instead, the price will drop to $74.

My dealer charges $85 to do the oil change on my 335. 6 extra $'s are worth it to have him do it.

That is pretty good for F30 I6. The cheapest local dealer price is $100 + tax for F30 I6, or $90 + tax for F30 I4.

The Liqui Moly may be worth it, but the Mobil 1 kit is quite expensive, as Walmart has M1 0W40 5Q bottle for $20 on sale, and the BMW oil filter(with BMW logo) is $12 online + shipping.

What would you guys recommend? 0w-40 or 5w-30 for a daily driver that does not see track days. May go FBO with BM3 in the future though. I live in New Jersey so it can be hot and cold.

In theory 0W-40 would be better as an all conditions oil. I don't think BMW currently recommends it, probably because in theory it won't give as good mileage as the currently recommended 0w-30 or the previously recommended 5W-30. But that's today. BMW changes oil recommendations and OEM suppliers all the time.

M1 0w-40 from Walmart and a Mann or Mahle filter from amazon has been the cheapest I’ve found. No need to keep the OE Shell oil in the long term.

I think I'm just gonna keep using fcp euro since it's free for me from now on. I already did one oil change with their kit and it went swimmingly well. Barring the few dollar shipping charges, i think it's worth if you are DIYing. Otherwise, as others have said, many coupons at dealerships.

If you live in AZ, why not get the Castrol EDGE 0w-40 European Formula for about $40 and a filter for about $10? Walmart/Amazon often have sales and the oil is usually about $5/quart. I usually buy enough for 2 oil changes at a time - 2x 5Q jugs and a 6x 1Q box - for about $80. I live in SoCal and so having the 0w-40 seems to make more sense.

Costco has the oil 27 bucks for 5quarts, and any independent repair shop will carry the mahle filter for under 10 bucks..

Quick shipping from ECS to Florida (or anywhere else).

That’s a joke. They use FedEx Smartpost which is as cheap as they can get and takes 2-3 extra days for package to be transferred from FedEx to USPS for delivery.

Don’t order on Monday if you want to change oil the coming weekend.

Convenience - Yes
Quick Shipping - No

Apparently, if you ship back your worn parts (including oil)... they replace them for free. Or something like that...

Its never made sense to me but apparently is a real thing. Seems absolutely ludicrous to pay for shipping dirty oil back to the seller. What do they do with it? It would COST them money to get rid of not to mention losing money on replacement. What are we missing?!

Actually as a seller of oil, they are required by federal to accept used oil just like any autoparts store. The used oil is typically placed a tank at the store and used oil processors will pay the store to collect the used oil for recycling. It's not a lot of money, but the store certainly isn't paying to have it removed.

I do think the FCP Euro used oil send back thing is rather odd though plus if any of your used oil leaks in shippment, the shipping company will be all over your ass because it's totally illegal to ship used oil as it's considered a hazardous waste and it's illegal to ship without proper declarations, certifications, package labeling, and DOT shipper training (that would be YOU). Penalties are stiff.

Not entirely true. The type of business that I am in - recovers oil and other fluids from vehicles.... we are required to dispose of properly and its actually quite expensive...
