F32 side decals

Can anyone help... I have a Sapphire Black 440i and was debating adding the m performance decal down the side. I know you can get the skirting with them on, but have also seen just the foils for sale I think?

Does anybody have experience or suggestions?

Thanks!

Never done it myself but I believe you get the rocker panel transfers as part of the M Performance body kit and they are described as 'Film for Rocker Panel Left / Right' p/n 51192240983 link here. Someone who's done it would probably be better placed though.

When I got the MPPSK fitted the dealer supplied two M Performance decals (they're each about 8" long). Never been inclined to fit them so they're just cluttering up the place. If you think they'd suit your purpose, PM me your details and I'll stick them in an envelope to you.

Decals are easy to fit

Measure both sides to a certain area you want them to sit. Place masking tape to mark the edge, then run masking take along the sill to mark the bottom edge so you have an L shape of tape creating a window to place the decal.

Soak the sill in window cleaner, peel the backing off and place in your window of tape. Squeegee excess lubricant out, wipe with a clean MF cloth, set it in place with a hair dryer on warm setting... done

Random thread update - put them on (thanks RobUk) and they look absolutely great, the darker grey on black works nicely.

Took the car to get new private plates on at Halfords and I've noticed that on one side two letters have raised up and are almost crunched up. I did it on the Thursday in 7c weather, and to be fair Saturday morning it was a balmy -5 in Edinburgh so i am wondering if that's caused it. The photo doesn't do it justice but it came out lovely but raised on one side. It was properly baltic to be fair.

I am looking on ebay and can see lots of replicas, the OEM are these https://shop.bmw.co.uk/bmw-uk/en_GB/...et/PID_608410/ so i think even for £20 I would rather go for this, unless anyone knows of a tried and tested replica version?

Cheers

Wow yep, bet -5ºC will do it! Don't think these stickers are very robust.

Yup. The other side is perfect as it was in the bright sun and never froze over! Spoke to bluebell crewe and they can order some more so no harm done, but I may get the full length black decal with m performance already on it.

Sorry one of yours ended up being pulled off I feel rotten!

On the other hand i decided my oem ones looked too " max power stick ons" for me so i tried to remove them only to find i had / have to remove the entire sill foil... My how i am looking forward to that job and no, i cant just leave them as i have half picked off the lettering...dohhhh I suppose the best way is a heat gun then glue remover then t cut and polish...

Argh not good! The greyed out m perf ones are a bit more discreet on mine, but you have to remove each letter which was a pain in freezing weather!

In the end i got the heat gun on them and the whole sill cover came off without a problem However, i did have to run along the lower edge with a Stanley knife to get them fully off, much better imho with them off
