FTP Motorsport
Looking to do some preventative upgrades including ER CP and FMIC. While I'm at it, was looking at these items from FTP Motorsports.
Anyone have any real life feedback on their stuff? Good idea? Bad idea? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i utilize ftp charge and tic pipes(combo kit), works good.
i'm not sure how beneficial the inlet(intel) pipe is, but the FTP turbo inlet(intel) pipe looks better than the offering from MST. i might get it at some point. there's more than a few members utilizing FTP products on their M cars. taiwan makes good stuff... get full ftp charge pipe combo (they have red ones too) come with charge pipe and turbo to intercooler pipe. As for the inlet pipe I have the mst and havent had any issues. the ftp price is cheaper. Their charge pipes are good so why wouldn't the inlet pipe be too

AFE is just intake. The inlet pipe is located between the OEM or aftermarket intake and the turbo
From what I've read here, gains from a turbo inlet pipe seem minimal. However louder and better spool have been reported so it must do a little bit. It is also a preventive measure since oem is plastic. If you change the inlet pipe, consider swapping to the GFB DV+ diverter valve at the same time, since everything in that area will be removed and you will have easier access to the diverter valve. I need to get this as well. Last edited by alohasurftoad; 01-11-2019 at 04:42 PM.. |

Awesome thanks for the feedback so far guys! I already bought the ER chargepipe and FMIC on a Black Friday special so probably won't pick up the CP + TIP (turbo inlet pipe) combo. Main reason why I went ER chargepipe + FMIC was to ensure good fitment since I've read some issues with fitment issues interchanging parts from other brands.
With the feedback so far, I was planning on the following route to upgrade performance and pre-emptively replace some parts: - ER charge pipe (purchased) - ER FMIC (purchased) - FTP Motorsport TIP (need to buy) - GFB Dv+ (need to buy) - BM3 tune (need to buy) Basically, I'm going Stage 1 on my N20 F31 wagon. Am I missing anything? I already have yellow M Performance Brakes and M Performance 335 exhaust retrofitted. Once I buy the 3 final parts needed I can install Stage 1 and call it a day. I think this will be adequate for my DD and I can save funds to finish the final details on my 6MT N54 swapped E91 wagon.

Any suggestions on where to get this stuff installed? Went ahead and bought everything except the BM3 so far.
It's been raining cats and dogs in SoCal and to be quite honest, I don't have time or proper space where I live to do the install myself. Plus I've read the GFB Dv+ is a pain to install and took a few hours for some who DIY'd it. Anyone know estimated time to install? Anyone remember how much they paid to install if they didn't do themselves? I can work remote and rather be working while this stuff gets done. SSR Performance? Autotalent? Both are a bit further from me since I'm up in the LA area. Thanks in advance. - ER charge pipe - ER FMIC - FTP Motorsport TIP - GFB Dv+ - BM3 tune (need to buy)

We have the FTP chargepipe (black coated) and our performance shop said it was one of the nicest chargepipe he's seen.
Can't speak for their FMICs though.

FTP ships amazingly fast. I ordered Wednesday night 8pm, within 2 hours it was confirmed and shipped with tracking. Just received the package today, Friday @ 1pm. Part looks nice and well constructed. Just waiting for GFB DV+ to come in and I can get Stage 1 installed in 1 shot.

Was all set to order my DP, CP, FMIC, TIC and inlet from x-ph.com, but since discovering FTP, I am going to save a bunch of money. For $550, I can get black powder coated CP, TIC and inlet. I'd only be getting CP and TIC if I went with ER. I will probably order my FMIC and DP from x-ph.com, though. Mike is a great guy and always does good business.
