Good evening,
I've recently changed my front pads, discs and wear sensor on my F30 330D. I was unable to reset the front brake low warning light (coming back as reset unsuccessful) upon further inspection one of the wires going in to the sensor housing in the weather box has snapped, causing the issue. I managed to make a temporary connection last night by stripping some wire back and splicing it back together to reset the light back to 15000 miles, then using some insulation tape to hold it in place. However after my jouryto work and back today the connection must have come loose and it's back to thinking my brakes need changing again. The problem I have is where the brake is doesn't give me much room to play with What would be the best solution to fix this permanently. Picture attached of where you plug thebrake wear sensor in showing the issue. Any help appreciated thank you. Darren. |

I'd buy a new lead with connector that goes into the guts of the car (part number will be on realoem), but instead of fitting it just cut the connector off the new lead and solder and heatshrink it to your existing loom in the wheel arch.

Thank you, I'll look up the part and try that. I was thinking if i can buy the replacement connector I'd somehow be able to attach it to the wiring.
Appreciate the help, thanks. |
