Door rattle f30
Have an annoying door rattle on rear left door.
Have used gummipfledge on the door and window rubbers, that didn’t fix, have also done the door lock rod pin thing mod to stop that rattling. With the window all the way up I get the rattle, with it cracked undone it goes away, any idea where to start? |

If it's not the LED strip light rattling, it will be as above. I found gummi pfledge did sweet FA - made it worse in fact - but what does work on mine is Meguiars Endurance tyre gel. I just wipe a thin layer onto the door rubbers after I'm done doing the tyres and that shuts them up for several weeks.
That's coming up as a dead link but tape sounds like a good plan so long as it doesn't peel off from weathering and door openings/closings? |

So the only permanent solutions are BMWs version of Gummy bear Pledge, or 3M squeak reduction Polyethylene UHMW tape. Both are mega money - probably because they work, so it's either cough up the £££££s boys, or keep rubbing the KY on every week I might try this in 19mm flavour - https://www.affixit.co.uk/uhmw-tape.html#180=832 The 3M stuff costs a fortune, if you can actually find a UK supplier. |

Okay guys, this is what I used on my car it's called 'Hoerev'.
As you will see it looks white,(first pic below) but is not, it does however have an opaque finish (2nd pic), but when you apply it it's sort of clear, (3rd pic). You apply it on the car where the felt/rubber top door trim meets the bodywork. I closed the doors and applied a strip of masking tape to the position where the it met the door and used this as a guide to apply the tape, so it's not visible when doors are shut. Mine was a black car so with warmed tape applied to a degreased and cleaned car, applied slowly with pressure to drive out any air bubbles, although visible, was not really noticeable. on lighter colours it would appear clear. As you will see I don't have much tape left but guess I'm unlikely to use it so if the OP wants to try some happy to send what I have as a sample. Hope it helps. |

This afternoon I’ve gave everything another clean and gummi’d the F out of the rubber and felt bit and see if that does anything, if not I’d happily try out that tape

Ironically, it is the flocked surface that is supposed break the stiction between the roof trim and door seal
It's horrendous over the winter months when all 4 doors have dried out. Sounds like a 1980s MK2 Escort wobbling it's way over a cobbled street. It also highlights just how much the unibody flexes as well. |
