Alignment and tire pressure

I am planning to take my 2016 328i M Sport for alignment, and was wondering if I should give mechanic any specific numbers to hit. For the most part, I would like to minimize chances of uneven/premature tire wear without sacrificing too much on handling.

I don't have much experience with F30s and not sure if they like alignment to be dialed certain way (my E70 is super picky about alignment

Also, on the door sticker it says 32/32 psi, isn't it a bit low? I am running 33/33 now and am wondering if I should dial it up to 35 in the rear.

Door sticker figures tend to be a bit low, for a more comfortable ride. For better handling, fuel economy and tire life go a couple of pounds higher. Whatever you decide on make sure the tires are at the pressure you'll use when doing an alignment.

+1
I always run 2-3 lbs higher in all my cars.
  • I set my F30 pressures at 34 PSI front and 35 PSI rear, but I do have a staggered setup (19" x 8" wide front, 19" x 8.5" wide rear)
  • The larger diameter wide wheels (19" x 8.5") are significantly more sensitive to the tire pressures and side tread wear
  • It is important to check and set the pressure when the car is closer to ambient temperatures, if you have been driving on a hot day, the tires will generate heat increasing the pressures
  • On a very hot day, my tire pressures will rise up an additional 2-3 lbs. (4-6 lbs over the factory settings) after 10-15 minutes of driving
Maintaining the higher tire pressures has allowed me to cross over 30K miles on my factory BRIDGESTONE POTENZA S001 RFT 19" "Y" Speed Rated (186 MPH) tires. That is due to maintaining pressures consistent throughout the year and observing the tread wear pattern for unusual wear.
