It will sound a bit like this when driving. The A6 biturbo had had these as standard for years. Sounds really good, in fact best when at low revs and just applying a bit of accelerator. At low speed it gives off a real rumble, sounds better than a petrol until you really get moving. You can turn it on and off, I have never turned mine off.

The kufactec mentioned earlier for the A6 is just a module that can tune the existing system to make different sounds. I never saw the point as the factory sound is great.

Very well described mate.

However I drove a bit more today in Comfort mode where the sound is much more subtle and I really enjoyed it. Its loud enough to sound great but not too much.

You can easily hear it inside every time you accelerate.
Tried it up to 4500 rev and sound was great all the way and increasing with rev accordingly.

Hard to believe it's a diesel seriously.

I never told my missus about the mod and was wondering if she will notice.
As soon as we drove off she asked me if its defo my car?😂😂
She thinks it sounds fantastic. ( comfort mode only - didn't show her the Sport Mode yet😎&#128526
Mind she was driving my RS4 as well so she knows how the good exhaust system should sound like lol.

I actually like the sound of the 320d performance exhaust & BMW Bristol are my preferred dealer.... Wish I hadn't looked at this thread now as seriously tempted!

Prior to buying my F30, I nearly bought a new Golf GTD & had the option box ticked for the sport & sound pack which had a performance / louder exhaust. In my opinion the 320d exhaust sounds much better, plus is it just me or can you hear the turbo spool better? I can't hear the turbo at all on mine...

You should defo be able to hear turbo more than before.
There is a new less restrictive mid silencer, plus exhaust pipe dia is larger as well.

Do you think you could take the MPE active sound exhaust and modify it to have a dual exit pipes?

I would say you could, just get BMW to fit/code it in or whatever they need to do, the take it somewhere else to modify it

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking - get BMW to supply and fit it, then go somewhere for them to modify it to look like my current one.

Or else take off the part that makes the sound and fit to my current one.

I take it the 330d one the guys have in the post also will fit your 335d?

I think for £1500 it could spice up the car quite nicely, and these guys seem to have great feedback of it even after spending time researching it etc.

Dual exit pipes?
Do you mean two pipes on each corner?

Nope, single pipe each side. I'd call the standard 30d/35d exhaust a twin, and the 340i a dual.

I already changed mine to a dual and prefer how it looks.

Only a little. I didn't mind spending a few hundred quid on my current exhaust for looks, but spending over a grand on something for my car that doesn't improve the driving performance doesn't seem that appealing.

Especially when I could just go take the Boxster for a drive with its very nice Milltek exhaust, and spend the money on a track day or mod for that car.

I wouldn't see why not, but BMW would need to fit/code it first I'd imagine. I doubt many Indys would know how to do that part.

Like Tengo said, get it fitted then go elsewhere to mod it.

Oh You are so wrong about it mate.

It may not give you any horse power, but man how it transform the car and the way you drive it.
I never used manual shift paddles and just stick to sport mode.
Since exhaust is fitted I drive on manual all the time.
You can acctually feel like driving performance car.
You can hear exhaust burble on down shifts and nice loud exhaust note when holding the gear longer.

For me it is defo a Performance upgrade!!

I tell you what lads.

Any of you being close to Bristol, let me know and I will meet with you and let you hear it live and give you a quick spin around.
So you can decide yourself before ordering one.

I guarantee you, that you will be on a phone to your dealer before you leave my car.

I'm actually not that far away so might take you up on that. I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have, and wouldn't be great for others to have, it's just that I've already sunk about £6-7k in mods in to the 335d and I've just bought a Boxster for weekends and track days, so I've just got other things I'd rather spend money on now with my cars. If I just ran the 335d as my only car then I'd probably go for it.
