Winter tire setup

Hi everyone

I'm buying my first set of winters for my 2017 440 with m brakes

Currently I have the oem staggered setup

Front 225/40/19
Rear 255/35/19

Everything is oem so yes runflats

I'm planning on getting winter setup with rims and tire so I don't have to keep taking off the rims.

Any tips on sizing to purchase for m brakes and I hear people saying 18" is better ?

I have a similar setup and use 225x45x18" snow tires on BMW 400m 18x8" wheels with a 34 offset but there are other variations. If in doubt about tire and wheel clearances you can check on Tirerack, dealer or check this forum as ppl respond to their winter wheel/tire setup with M Brakes with 370mm front brake rotors.

size 16 would be better but they wont fit. Going narrower will always be more advantageous so yes, 18 in your case. Go square and skip run flats
