Recommended tyre repair kits?
For those who've gone to non runflat tyres... any recommended tyre repair kits other than the official BMW ones? They seem quite pricy compare to the other ones around, but would be good to hear from anyone who's tried a different one.
Thanks!

Hi, i have one of these in the boot.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 i also got some rubber solution as well https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I used it a few months ago to repair my wife's 1 series RFT. Her car was under a year old with only a couple of thousand miles on. Her work only 2 miles away and with over 7mm on tread left I did not want to purchase a new expensive Tyre to match the others. Very easy to use, just need to be brutal when reaming out the repair hole. Repair took about 30 mins, left for about a hour then fully inflated to correct pressure & reset tpms . The repair was in the main width of the tyre not sidewall etc. I have taken her car on a couple of long fast runs to test and no drop of pressure, over the last couple of months.

After some research I decided on this one "AirMan ResQ Emergancy Tyre Repair Kit," https://www.amazon.co.uk/AirMan-ResQ...2363094&sr=8-2 I've used the pump by itself and it is fairly good. It says it is the same one rebranded for a number of OEM kits. Also got this slime plug kit that fits nicely inside the compressor bag to give a nice compact solution that fits inside the left cubby of the boot above the first aid kit https://www.amazon.co.uk/Slime-20464...%2C153&sr=8-27 |

I've ordered the Slime kit for in the car, but having one of those at the house might be handy, or to take on longer trips.

Definitely worth it for only £23, one of those you never know kind of kits, compact enough to sit in the boot and forget about.

I also carry (fits easily in storage area under trunk floor) a scissor jack that has a rectangular box at its top that fits perfectly into the plastic BMW jack points. It's mostly for when I travel with my spare. But if I get a complete flat, the Slime Kit won't inflate it because air will leak from the tire bead. Being able to jack the tire up off the ground relieves the weight of the car on the bead to allow it to inflate. Also carry: Breaker bar with 17mm long socket, cheap mechanic's gloves, small piece of plywood to fit under jack on soft ground. Spare tire is in tire bag to keep things clean and allows me to even place spare in back seat to keep luggage hidden in trunk on a trip. Hope this helps! |

I used to carry a can of Holts Tyre Weld around. Never had to use, but seemed a quick and easily solution, as you buy if for the specific sized tyre and unleash the can when needed and no need for separate compressor.
Can also be washed out so puncture can be repaired (if possible) |
