New 440i
Well today traded my 2016 340i in for an M sport 440i 2019, registered end of November last year so it's about 10 weeks old with 2108 miles on the clock.
Great spec in Saphire black with some nice upgrades like M sport plus etc, they are throwing in the ceramic coating on everything foc, am collecting in next Monday as no point taxing it until then or I lose a full month of road tax which ain't goi g to happen :-) I still have my 340i to use up to then so no hardship lol Going to want a trunk lid carbon spoiler and sort my exhaust out. Black leather with all the carbon interior trim parts etc, very happy with it. Now I have a problem deciding what to do as I have an almost new Remus cat back system off my 340 which is awesome BUT not sure if I should fit it OR get the mppsk fitted at the stealers so I still have my full 2 year 9 month warranty, hmmm decisions decisions lol. Could always sell my Remus system I suppose but it does sound amazing, will have to think on it as removing the exhaust system every time it needs to visit the dealer will be a royal pain ln the ass . |

It is not the Euro 6. It is the OPF, as mentioned already. MPPSK is only compatible with non-OPF models, hence those up to MY2018.

So will my Remus system fit or is the exhaust system different from my 2016 340i, as Remus themselves say it fits both models 2015 on ? Pick it up next Monday so I will have to wait and see if it will fit. |

It will fit but most likely only if you "kill" the OPF.... which will make it difficult for you to pass MOT I suspect....
P.s. Euro 6 is partially correct... the issue has to do with emissions indeed, but not CO2 emissions MY 2018 for example is still Euro 6 but has no OPF and is therefore compatible with MPPSK

Picnic bench?
Some people just don't know where to stop... And I am sure your Audi friend enjoyed yet another absurd BMW. I, coming from the Audi world, have also always wondered why it is always BMWs (and Honda) driven by comedians... unfortunately for me now.

Another question then guys
At 2105 miles is it worth me doing an oil and filter change next week when I collect it from BMW , I know they say it doesn't need an oil service but surely this is the time to do one and get rid of anything in the oil from engine bedding in ?, what are your thoughts please. |

The answer use to be yes but perhaps that is old thinking. Engines, oil etc have evolved. I think that now the factory recommended intervals programmed into your car should be correct. My 2 cents

It may not need it but it would not harm it! I would go for a filter/oil change earlier the first time.

Forgot to say the friend of mine who works on the sales team told me today it was a good move to buy the 2019 version as it is going to hold its value a fair bit more than the 2018 and lower years exactly for the OPF reason as emission legislation gets tougher and we all know it will the non equipped with OPF cars will be a great deal for the buyers but unfortunately not the sellers, we shall see.
I will be fitting my Remus cat back system on Tuesday in my workshop the day after I pick it up, any pipework required ( I don't know if there is ) but I have a guy who will fabricate me anything I need if it is different to connect the Remus system to the front flexi, so I am MORE than happy as I have enjoyed this exhaust so much on my 340 I and looking forward to it on this 440. |

Well... what would you rather buy - a car with an OPF or a car with MPPSK?
I know my answer In reality both will lose value as soon as the new G model kicks in. This is normal. There will always be something newer. Sales people are trained to make you feel good about your purchase This is a recognised part of marketing - post-purchase emotions are important to manage and influence in order to ensure overall customer satisfaction. This said - you did buy a great car, despite the unfortunate OPF, so nothing to feel badly about (Trust me - I am not directly in sales )
