F31 - Powerfold Mirrors Install Question
Hey everyone,
So two weeks ago I managed to install some powerfold mirrors to my recently new F31. I rewired the switch in the drivers door and I have manged to code the car so it works. But I do have two issues, the electrochromic mirror glass doesnt dim at night, even though I have changed the options in the CAFD of the FEM. Also ISTA+ reports the the FEM has 4 error codes.
Do I need to reprogram another module? Thanks in advance Last edited by Court; 07-23-2019 at 07:33 AM.. |

Hi, how did you fix these issues. I’ve notice these errors showing up after I did the retrofit.
Let me know so I can have a go at fixing mine too. Thank you Last edited by M2AFX; 02-22-2020 at 06:23 AM.. |

Thank you for the reply. I’ve looked through the thread you linked to but it’s not clear on which section helped you clear the (FIXED) faults? I can see someone asking in the last post on the first page about the switch showing as incorrect but nothing else. Can you point me to which section in that post helped with the fixes please? Thanks Zaf |

On the connector that goes to the Drivers door switch you have the cables as shown below.
1 -> Ground 2 -> Lin 3 -> Mirror Power 4 -> Lin 5 -> not used 6 -> not used 7 -> Connected to Passenger Side 8 -> Connected to Passenger Side 9 -> Connected to Passenger Side 10 -> Power 11 -> Ground 12 -> not used You Have to Cut 7,8,9 so that they are not longer connected to the switch. Now you have to connect (Splice or Solder) the cut cables of 7,8,9 with the cables 1,2,10 ( I've cut them as well and used a splice connector to connect them) So Splice Pin 7 to 1, Pin 8 to 2 & Pin 9 to 10 |

Thank you, it make sense. However I ran new wires to the passenger side, and disconnected the wires on the passenger mirror, does that mean I just need to disconnect these 3 wires on the drivers switch as well as they are not connected in the passenger side?

Sport seats retrofit

I did a "Heated Sport seats retrofit" from "Normal electric memory seats" (I guess most of you will say it's a downgrade ). Long story short, seats installed but I have some errors: - D90D0F - Exterior mirror, right (LIN): Unexpected LIN slave - 804341 - Exterior mirror sensor, left or right: open circuit or short circuit to B+ - D90D16 - Light operation unit (BEL), (LIN): Wrong variant installed - D90D06 - Switch block on driver's door: wrong version installed Can you please advise on this? |

In my case it was a coding error. There is something wrong with your LIN-related coding for your mirrors, I think. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...8&postcount=92
